The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to launch a series of career awareness sessions this summer to help schools enhance their career counselling frameworks. The initiative, running between June 12 and July 26, 2025, is designed to train school principals and counsellors to better support students in making informed career choices.
Focus of the Programme
CBSE's new initiative comes as part of its broader effort to align career counselling with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The sessions will equip educators with the latest tools and resources needed to guide students in planning their futures.
Here’s what the programme aims to achieve:
- Provide structured training for principals and school counsellors in career guidance.
- Share information on internship and vocational training opportunities.
- Offer guidance on available scholarships and financial aid.
- Support students in identifying their personal aptitudes and interests.
- Align school-based counselling services with the personalized learning goals of NEP 2020.
The board stressed the importance of building robust school counselling systems that are student-focused and inclusive, ensuring learners receive timely and accurate guidance.
