The NEET 2025 counselling will most probably take place in the fourth week of July 2025, roughly a month after the results of NEET 2025 are announced, or at least in August 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET result of 2025 will be announced on or before June 14, 2025, and the counselling process will follow suit. NEET 2025 paper was held on May 4, 2025. Since the exam was tough, the cutoff has come down in NEET 2025 this year. Although the cutoff percentiles will remain the same, the actual scores have decreased. Additionally, fewer candidates have been qualified this year than last year.

NEET counselling will be done by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) online, apart from the last round, which is the institute reporting round. For the last round, the candidates will be required to physically report to the institute which has been allotted to them for document verification and for the completion of the NEET 2025 admission process. There will be around five to six NEET 2025 counselling rounds, and the counselling rounds can be increased based on vacant seats.

There are two categories of NEET 2025 counselling: 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85 percent State Quota (SQ) seats. The counselling for AIQ seats is carried out by the MCC, and State Counselling authorities conduct the NEET State Counselling process.
