GATE 2021 Admit Card

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay also known as IIT Bombay is all set to release GATE 2021 Admit Card on 8th January 2021. Candidates who successfully registered themselves for GATE 2021 on the official website of GATE can download their respective GATE Admit Card by visiting the official website of GATE. Candidates who didn't complete GATE Registration successfully won't be able to fetch their admit card.

GATE 2021 Admit Card will be released on 8th January 2021.

GATE 2021 Exam will be conducted from 5th February 2021 to 7th February 2021 and 12th February 2021 to 14th February 2021.

Below mentioned is the brief description of downloading GATE Admit Card:

  • Candidates must enter the required details in order to download their GATE Admit Card.
  • These details primarily include a valid enrollment number and password they received on their registered email id at the time of GATE Application Form filling.
  • The admit card consists of details such as GATE Exam Center, GATE Exam Date, Timings, etc.
  • The candidate whose enrollment IDs have been displayed on the official website provisionally, must carry the required documents and submit them to the concerned authorities. Candidates should also check their admit card before taking the printout of the same.
  • In case of any discrepancies found in your admit card, candidates are advised to report it immediately to their zonal Indian Institute of Technology in order to get the discrepancies rectified.
  • Candidates must carry their GATE Admit Card to the examination center as it is one important document without which candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
  • Along with GATE Admit Card, candidates must also carry one valid ID proof on the examination day.

As per the latest news, GATE 2021 Exam is scheduled to be conducted across more than 195 exam centers. These exam centers are under 8 zonal Indian Institutes of Technology. Besides, there are 6 other international cities as well where GATE 2021 Exam will be held for students seeking admission to M. Tech and Ph. D. program. GATE Exam is an online entrance examination and is of 3 hours of duration. The question paper consists of 2 types of questions i.e. Multiple-Choice Type Questions and NAT. It is expected that GATE Exam Answer Keys will be released right after 10 days of the examinations.

How to Download GATE 2021 Admit Card?

Candidates with successful registration can download their respective GATE 2021 Admit Cards available on the official website of GATE. Candidates are required to visit the official website of GATE and follow the below procedure in order to download their admit cards:

Step 1 – Visit the official website of GATE i.e. gate.iitb.ac.in.

Step 2 – Enter the required details such as your GATE Enrollment ID and Password and click on submit to proceed further.

Step 3 – A new webpage appears where you must click on “Download GATE 2021 Admit Card”.

Step 4 – Download the displayed admit card.

Step 5 – Take printout of GATE Admit Card in order to save it for future reference.

Step 6 – Check for the discrepancies, if any.

Note* If any discrepancy is found, candidates would be advised to report it immediately to the GATE Zonal Office and get it rectified.

Instructions to Download the GATE Admit Card:

  • Candidates would be required to report at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the examination.
  • The candidates shall not be allowed to be entering the examination hall after 9.30 AM (Forenoon and Afternoon session) of the examination.
  • The candidates would have to compulsorily bring a GATE Admit Card on the examination day. Candidates, otherwise, would not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  • Candidates would have to carry GATE Admit card along with one photo inscribed ID.
  • Candidates ID Proof should match the details mentioned on the Admit Card.
  • No candidate shall be permitted after the prescribed reporting time.
  • The candidates shall not be allowed to leave the examination prior to the mentioned reporting time.
  • To the examination hall, only admit card, identification card and pen shall be permitted to be taken inside the examination hall.
  • A simple wristwatch worn is always permissible inside the examination hall.

Steps to Regain the GATE Enrollment ID and Password:

  • Forgot Password?
  • Clicking on Request for OTP. The OTP shall be sent to the registered mobile number of the candidate.
  • The OTP has to be submitted, after which the candidates shall reset their password.
  • Forgetting Enrolment ID
  • Clicking on Forget Enrolment ID
  • The candidates would be required to enter their registered mobile number.

Discrepancy in GATE 2021 Admit Card

After GATE 2021 Admit Card is downloaded, candidates must check if the details mentioned on their admit cards are correct or not. There are several cases where students found discrepancies in their downloaded GATE Admit Card. Candidates must understand that this issue must be immediately reported to the concerned authorities. Candidates must double check all the information mentioned in their GATE Admit Card.

Below are the points that candidates must ponder while filling GATE Application Form:

  • GATE Application Form must be completely and correctly filled. All the details provided by candidates must be true.
  • Candidates must place their signature right below the passport sized photograph.
  • Declaration statement of the form must contain candidates' signature.
  • A valid email id is provided by the candidates for future communication.

GATE Admit Card FAQs

Q. When will I receive the GATE Admit Card?

The GATE Admit Card would not be received by email or post as it is only available online. The candidates would be required to login and download the same.

Q. The photo and signature on GATE Admit Card are not clear. What can I do?

The GATE Admit card can be downloaded. Further, the GATE Zonal Centers can be reached with a specification on the problem and an attached copy of the GATE Admit card with it. To know the GATE Zonal Center, the IIT coordinating with the GATE 2019 Exam center would be required to be checked. This will be the GATE Zonal Center to whom the email would be required to be sent.

Q. Is there any specification about GATE Admit Card printout?

The authorities of GATE have specified that the GATE Admit card should be printout (color) on an A4 Paper. This guideline requires to be followed to avoid being barred from the examination hall.

Q. Is it compulsory to have the Photo ID along with the GATE Admit Card?

The candidate would not be allowed to enter the examination hall without the GATE Admit card in possession. The Photo ID carried must match the specifications given on the GATE Admit Card.

Q. How important is it to preserve the GATE Admit card?

The GATE score is valid for a period of 3 years, from the date of result declaration. Therefore, if a candidate qualifies and wishes to take admission in M. Tech one year later, the candidate would be asked to present the GATE Admit Card at the time of application to PSUs.

A copy of the GATE Admit Card is always to be kept handy by the candidates.
