The JEE Main 2026 Form correction window is now live and the link is available on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students can check the details mentioned below that can be corrected

Details to be corrected for Aadhaar Verified candidates

  • Candidates cannot make changes in their name, date of birth, and gender.
  • Father's or mother's name - Candidates can change either of these two.
  • Category - Candidates can either change the category or re-upload the category certificate.
  • Sub Category - Again, candidates can either change their subcategory or re-upload the category certificate.
  • City and Medium - Candidates can change their preferred exam city along with the medium (language) in which they want to take the exam.
  • Qualification details including passing year - Candidates can change their qualification details of class 10th and 12th.
  • Course Details - Candidates can modify the papers they wish to appear in through JEE Main 2026.

Details to be corrected for Aadhaar NOT Verified candidates

  • Candidate's name, father's or mother's name - Candidates can change one of the three names only.
  • Category - Candidates can either change the category or re-upload the category certificate.
  • Sub Category - Again, candidates can either change their sub-category or re-upload the category certificate.
  • Date of Birth and Gender - Candidates are allowed to correct their date of birth and gender as well.
  • City and Medium - Candidates can change their preferred exam city along with the medium (language) in which they want to take the exam.
  • Qualification details including passing year - Candidates can change their qualification details of class 10th and 12th.
  • Course Details - Candidates can modify the papers they wish to appear in through JEE Main 2026.

How to Make Corrections in the JEE Main 2026 Application Form?

Below are the steps students can follow in order to make corrections to their duly filled application form for JEE Main 2026.

  • Visit the JEE Main 2026 official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Navigate to and click on the ‘Login for Correction in Application Form' tab.
  • Enter your JEE Main login details such as JEE Main Application Number and password.
  • Enter the security key and click on login.
  • Navigate to and click on ‘Manage Form Particulars Correction' to make changes.
  • Read the instructions mentioned carefully.
  • Edit the information and make the required corrections.
  • Pay the additional fees for the corrections you have made.

JEE Main Correction Window Fees

Candidates willing to make corrections in their duly filled JEE Main 2026 Application form must pay the application fee for some kind of modifications. Please read below the scenarios which require extra charges for specific changes:

  • Category - If you wish to change your category from SC/ST/Girls/PwD to General/OBC-NCL, then an extra correction fee will be charged.
  • Choosing Multiple Papers - If a candidate chooses more than two papers to appear in then an additional fee will be required.
  • Changes in Exam City Preference - In case of making changes in exam city preference, there would be an additional charges.
  • Candidates will be required to make the payment of the balance fees after having deducted the application fees paid earlier from the fees to be paid now. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will have to pay lesser application fees compared with the application fees paid by general category candidates. Thus, the candidates belonging to the reserved category will be required to pay the balance fees.

How to Change Candidate's Name in JEE Main 2026 Application Form?

If candidates have made any spelling mistakes in their Name in the JEE Main application form, they can correct the error during the application correction process. The window is now open and the direct link is available on the official website. Candidates can now correct the mistakes that they made in their JEE Main form. The NTA has begun the process of Aadhar based e-KYC.

Candidates who filled their form using the Aadhaar based e-KYC facility cannot make changes in their name while candidates who didn't use the Aadhaar based e-KYC process will be able to make changes in their mistakes. They just need to login to the JEE Main 2026 website.

  • Candidates who choose to take both JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 and Paper 2 during the JEE Main Registration process, but now wish to appear only in one paper will not receive any refund.

JEE Main Application Form Correction Important Points

Before making any changes in the JEE Main application form, the following points must be kept in mind.

  • The JEE Main 2026 Form Correction window is opened only once and it is for the candidates to correct their mistakes. The candidates are advised to make corrections very carefully as there will be no other chances given to the candidates to make corrections.
  • The window will remain open for 2 days only.
  • Candidates with incorrect or inappropriate information in their application form will not be considered for admission.
  • The window will be made available for both sessions. The form correction facility will be opened for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 and Session 2 application form.
  • Not all the details are made available for corrections.
  • Some of the corrections will also require payment of certain fees.
