The JEE Main exam is set to be held in January and April 2026 across various exam centres as an online computer based test (CBT). The exam will be held across various exam centres in India and outside India. While the JEE Main exam has observed several changes over the years, the 2026 exam will be different. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to introduce several important changes in the exam this year, especially pertaining to the JEE Main registration and JEE application form 2026.
Earlier last month, NTA had issued an important advisory as per which the students have been asked to keep their Aadhar Card updated, UDID card updated (for PwD category), and even the category certificate must also be ready and updated. Expected Change 1 → 40-50% Pre-filled JEE Main Application Form
The first major change which is expected this year is that the basic details like the candidates' name, address, phone number, and e-mail ID will be pre filled based on the Aadhar card details. Therefore, in this situation, the candidates are strictly advised to keep all their documents updated with latest information.

Expected Change 2 → No Option to Choose & Fill the JEE Main Exam Centre
It is highly anticipated that this year, the aspirants will not be allowed to choose their preferred exam city. As per the latest reports the students will be allocated the JEE Main test city randomly and will be informed via the JEE Main city intimation slip.
