Impact of Multi-Session Format on JEE Main Rankings

The multi-session format has been implemented into JEE Main to reduce inequality pertaining to different difficulty levels among different dates of the exams. Percentile calculation ensures fair comparison among candidates and reduces transparency errors in generating rankings.

JEE Main Difficulty Level Trend Analysis (2021–2025)

The JEE Main exams from 2021 to 2025 have shown noticeable variations in difficulty level across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each year presented a unique set of challenges for students, influencing their preparation and performance strategies. Here's a breakdown of the JEE Main paper analysis over the past few years -

JEE Main 2025 Paper Analysis

The JEE Main 2025 exam was overall moderate in difficulty, with Mathematics being the toughest section due to its lengthy and time-consuming nature. Key topics like Matrices, 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Conic Sections were heavily featured. Physics was rated easy to moderate, with a balanced mix from Class 11 and 12, and special focus on Optics and Electromagnetism. Chemistry was the most scoring section, dominated by NCERT-based questions, especially from Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, making it relatively easy for well-prepared students.

JEE Main 2024 Paper Analysis

The JEE Main 2024 exam, conducted across multiple sessions, maintained an overall moderate difficulty level, though subject-wise variation was evident. Physics was rated easy to moderate, with a focus on Modern Physics, Gravitation, and Semiconductors. Chemistry remained the easiest for most students, featuring NCERT-based questions from topics like Organic Chemistry, Biomolecules, and Electrochemistry. Mathematics emerged as the toughest section due to its lengthy and complex problems, especially from Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and 3D Geometry.

JEE Main 2023 Paper Analysis

JEE Main 2023 was held in two sessions—January and April—and featured an overall moderate difficulty level. While Physics and Chemistry were largely rated as easy to moderate, Mathematics stood out as the most challenging section, with many students finding it lengthy and calculation-heavy. Some exam shifts were slightly tougher, particularly due to the complexity of Math problems.

JEE Main 2022 Paper Analysis

The overall difficulty level of JEE Main 2022 ranged from moderate to difficult, with Mathematics being the toughest section due to its lengthy and tricky problems. Physics was rated as moderately easy, while Chemistry was mostly easy, especially with a strong emphasis on NCERT-based questions. The paper maintained a balanced topic distribution across all three subjects.

JEE Main 2021 Paper Analysis

JEE Main 2021 was held across multiple sessions, and the overall difficulty level was moderate. Physics was generally seen as the easiest section, followed by Chemistry, while Mathematics posed the most challenges due to its lengthy and calculation-heavy questions.
