The students who have scored in the 89th percentile in JEE Main 2025 will have a score of between 82 and 89 and are expected to have a rank above 1,51,000 based on the difficulty level of the JEE Main 2025 paper.

Marks and Rank Based on 89 Percentile in JEE Main 2025: A percentile of 89 is an average score as per the competition level of the JEE Main 2025. Aspirants with 89 percentile may face difficulty in pursuing admission in reputed NITs or IIITs. Institutes accepting JEE Main 89 percentile are NIT Puducherry, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Andhra Pradesh, mid-tier NITs and IIITs. The expected mark range for 89 percentile is around 94.1 for easy exams, 82.6 for moderate papers, and 67 for difficult exams.

If a student wants to secure the 89.9 percentile, he/she would require more than 101.7 marks in an easy paper, approximately 89.3 in a medium paper, and around 72.4 in a difficult paper. This will help students fall within the rank of approximately 1,51,500.

Conversely, for an 89.5 percentile, students will need at least 98.3 in an easy level exam, 86.3 in medium, and 70 in difficult, which would place students’ rank at approx 1,57,500. This will help candidates figure out their future choices with more clarity.
