The School of Engineering and Technology is located in Bangalore, Karnataka and is affiliated to Jain University which is referred to as a Deemed to be University. The university offers various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level and these courses are offered under various specializations thus creating several options for students to pursue their career in.
The university offers B. Tech and M. Tech programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels respectively. These programs are offered under various specializations and candidates seeking admission to either of the programs is free to choose the specialization as per their interest. The admission procedure of both the programs is completed online on the official website of Jain University.

Eligibility Criteria of School of Engineering and Technology:
- For admission to B. Tech, students must qualify Jain Entrance Test (JET) conducted by the university to shortlist candidates based on the marks obtained by them.
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech program must have passed 12th class with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Electronics/Computer Science/Biology from a recognized board securing at least 45% marks in aggregate.
- For lateral entry admission to B. Tech program, students must possess a diploma in the relevant field from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Admission to M. Tech program is done based on candidates’ performance in GATE/JET or any other state level entrance examination.
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech must possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
Admission to B. Tech and M. Tech Program
The admission procedure for B. Tech and M. Tech programs offered by the university is completed online on the official website of Jain University. It can be done via online mode only. Admission Procedure of B. Tech and M. Tech:
The application procedure can only be completed through online mode. Following are the steps one must complete in order to register oneself for admission to B. Tech and M. Tech programs offered by the university.
Step 1: New User Registration
- Candidates must enter all the required details carefully in order to register themselves for the admission.
- The email id entered by candidates would be authenticated by an email sent by Jain University to candidate’s email id. Authenticate your email id before continuing with the admission procedure.
- All the notifications concerning JET 2020 would be sent to candidates’ registered email id and mobile number. Candidates must note that they won’t be to make changes in the email id and mobile number registered by them.
Step 2: Filling the Online Application Form
Candidates must fill the application form by providing all the relevant details. Candidates must make sure that the details filled in by them are correct as any incorrect detail may lead to cancelation of their candidature. The details that must be submitted by them are as follows:
- Personal Information
- Address Information
- Academic Information
- Additional Information
- Test Centre once selected cannot be changed under any circumstances. (Kindly notify at least 10days prior to Exam date)
- Enclosure
Step 3: Uploading of Documents
- After all the details are filled correctly, the next step is to upload the scanned image of your passport sized photograph. Following are the specifications satisfying which the images must be uploaded:
- Upload your recent passport sized photograph of size 3.5 cm * 4.5 cm. It should be a colored photograph.
- The image should be of .jpg or .png format and should not exceed the of 50 kb.
- Candidates applying for B. Tech - Upload your class 10th marksheet that should be of format .jpg, .png, or PDF. The size of the document should not exceed 100 kb.
- Candidates applying for M. Tech – Upload your 10th class, 12th class, and all semester marksheets and the documents should be of format .jpg, .png, or PDF. The size of the documents should not exceed 100 kb.
- After the submission of these documents, an application number will be generated and sent to candidates’ email id. Save your application number for all your future references.
Step 4: Payment of Application Fee
- This is the last step to application procedure. The applicants must process the payment of INR 600 as application fee for B. Tech.
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech must process the payment of INR 1050 as application fee.
- The payment can be made through Net Banking/Credit Card/ Debit Card.
- Candidates can also buy coupons by cash at the admission office of Jain University.
Payment Transaction Queries:
- During the transaction, if the amount has been debited from your account and does not reflect on the website kindly, do not try to apply again. Wait for at least 24 hours and try to make the payment using the same registered email id.
- If the amount is not debited, try to make the payment again.
Note* For this academic year, the university has decided to not keep working professional programs offered under M. Tech.
Scholarship (M. Tech)
Candidates who qualify GATE Exam would be eligible for scholarship of 50% of the 1st year tuition fee, 1 seat per branch and the same will be continued if the candidate scores more than 60% in the 1st round.

Studying at Jain university is so far the best thing that happened to me. The campus provides extremely good infrastructure and facilities. The campus is located in the heart of Bangalore City and easily accessible. The hostel facilities for boys and girls are amazing. The students are safe inside the hostel as it is in under surveillance all the time, that is security guards and CCTV’s will be there 24/7. The food provided is highly nutritious and tasty. We feel at home inside the hostels. We are also encouraged to a greater level to participate in extra-curricular activities and to showcase our talents. All students are treated equally at Jain University, no discrimination, nothing.

Jain University- The best university in India 4/5
I have to say that this college is awesome. I would recommend Jain University to everyone. The infrastructure, facilities, hostel, classrooms, arts and sports events everything is mind blowing. No words to explain. Days spent in Jain University were the best. Still miss those beautiful days. Every college or university will have its own set of pros and cons. Well talking about Jain University everything is a plus, except for the part that you can only have vegetarian food inside the campus. Anyhow that’s not a big deal. Talking about the placements of Jain University, the placements are excellent. Mostly all of the students got placed, that too in big firms such as Infosys, IBM, Accenture, EY, Capgemini etc. They offer great packages also.
