Not many Indian girls at an early age as 6, dream to hit a tee shot or desire to find the bottom of the golf cup with the first swing. It’s rare for them to get fixated with playing golf. But Bangalorean girl Aditi Ashok, who has caught the attention of ace golfers by her sheer talent, has emerged to brunch out. And stuck out a mile in a very short time. This 18-year old teen golfer is the highest gainer in international rankings to climb to a career-high ranking of 132 in the world. In addition, she has climbed 66 places in just a week. A rare and laudable feat that have transformed her into the latest teen golf sensation. Not many can demonstrate such an impeccable rise in such a short span. Which is why she could rise 21 spots to 171st as best mover among top 300 players in Caroline Hedwall of Sweden."Ever since I started golf, I’ve always wanted to be playing with the best in the world and competing at the highest levelâ€, asserted this first year student of Jain University.
Pankaj Advani
Blessed with passion, natural ability and dedication for the sport of Snooker and Billiards, Pankaj’s career has seen many firsts. He is the only person in the history of the game to have won both the billiards and snooker IBSF world titles as well as the World Professional Billiards Championship. He was the first person ever to win a “Grand Double†(both the points and time formats in the same year) at the IBSF World Billiards Championships 2005. He repeated the same feat at the 2008 Championships held in Bangalore. A commerce graduate from Jain College, Pankaj was only 6 months into college when he won the Men’s World Snooker Championship in China at the age of 18. This was the first of his 8 world titles. Pankaj Advani remains the only person to have won all 5 Billiards tournaments in a season, an accomplishment achieved by winning the Junior National Championship, Senior National Championship, Asian Billiards Championship, World Billiards Championship.
Karun Nair
It’s very rare of Indian kids to not fall for the charisma of cricket and strike a shot, even before they learn to toddle; and Bangalorean boy Karun Nair is one of them. He gripped all attention with his first spectacular show in Ranji Match 2013-14. He helped his team end a 15-year wait for a Ranji title and scored centuries in the quarter-final and semi-final.
