Here is a list of Scholarship provided by Anna University:

MBC/BC Scholarship: Candidates belonging to BC and MBC category and enrolled in a full time programme and have a family income below Rs. 2, 00, 000 are eligible to apply for this particular scholarship. The candidate applying for the scholarship needs to produce the income proof of the family to avail this scholarship.

Scholarship for Reserved Category: Candidates belonging to the reserved category of SC and ST and have a family income below Rs. 2, 50,000 are eligible for the scholarship. Also, the students belonging to Christian minority (SC/ST) and family income less than 2, 00,000 can also apply for the scholarship.

Chief Minister Scholarship for SC/ST students: A group of candidates depending on the marks scored in the 10+2 and belongs to reserved category are eligible for the Chief Minister Award. To claim this particular scholarship no need to have a certain family income.

Higher Education Scholarship for SC/ST: Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Christian SC/ST with the family income below 2, 00,000 can apply for Higher Education Scholarship of Anna University.


Anna University has recently declared the result for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the academic year 2017-2018. The result was declared on the official website of the university i.e. Candidates who have already appeared for the examinations and are waiting for their results need to visit the mentioned official website and login with the registration number and respective date of birth. Once the required information was filled candidate will be able to check their result as it will appear on the screen.

There is a pre-defined minimum qualifying score, which a candidate needs to obtain to qualify the examination. The candidate who has appeared for the final year of the degree programme can also check their respective results once it is declared. Such candidates can also demand the provisional mark sheet if they need the same to apply for higher studies or job purposes.

Candidates who wish to check their results can follow the below-mentioned steps:

In case a candidate is not satisfied with his or her result the Anna University give them a chance to demand the re-evaluation of their answer sheet. To apply for the re-evaluation process candidate needs to fill an application form which needs to be submitted within the date of re-evaluation of answer sheets. Admission Procedure

Anna University provides admissions into the courses of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes. The programmes include streams of science, engineering, IT and Software, Business and management and Architecture and planning. Minimum eligibility criteria for admission in undergraduate courses is to qualify the board examination of 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board and state board. For admission in any of the postgraduate courses candidates needs to have cleared graduation degree from a recognized university or institution.

The admission process at Anna University:

Depending on the course selected by a student, the admission process may vary at Anna University. For some of the courses, the candidate has to appear for the entrance examination of state level as well as national level and for some of the courses candidates will be selected on basis of merit. In the below segment we will discuss course wise admission procedure of Anna University.

B.Tech, BE and B. Arch courses Admission: For admissions in B.Tech, BE and B.Arch courses candidate needs to appear and qualify Tamilnadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) test which is a state level engineering entrance examination. Admissions will be given on basis on rank scored in the examination.

M.Tech, MArch, MBA, MCA and M. Plan Admissions: For admission in the postgraduate level of M.Tech, MArch, MBA, MCA and M. Plan courses candidate needs to qualify the state level entrance examination, Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET).

M.Sc. Admissions: Candidates aspiring to take admission in the M.Sc course at Anna University have to either take a two-year degree programme or five years integrated degree programme. For admissions in the 2-year degree programme of M.Sc candidate needs to clear the entrance examination conducted by Anna University. However, for admission in the 5 years, the integrated programme candidate will be selected on basis of merit and counselling.

Admission process for students of foreign nationality: Candidates applying through the category of foreign nationality can directly apply for the preferred course at the University. The candidates only need to fill the application form, submit the required documents and fee.

Anna University was established in the year 1978 and was formed by integrating four technical institutes in Chennai, namely College of Engineering (established in 1794), Alagappa College of Technology (established in 1944), Madras Institute of Technology (established in 1949) and School of Architecture & Planning (established in 1957). The university is named after the former Chief Minister of the state, Dr. C N Annadurai.

The institute offers Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in the field of Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Applied Sciences. The institutes also promote research programmes and foster cooperation between academics and industrial communities.

Currently, Anna University has 4 department campuses i.e. CEG, MIT, ACT and SAP campuses along with 13 Constituent Colleges, 3 Regional Campuses at Tirunelveli, Madurai & Coimbatore, and 593 colleges (Government, Government Aided and Self-Financing Colleges) are affiliated to the University.
