The IIT JAM 2026 exam will be conducted across 100 exam centres in 8 IITs and IISc Bengaluru Zones. The candidates get the opportunity to select and choose their test centres and they must choose upto 3 IIT JAM exam centres. The candidates will be allotted the exam centres as per the availability, and the exam centre for IIT JAM is mentioned on the candidates' IIT JAM admit card.
Before the IIT JAM hall ticket 2026 is released, the exam authority - IIT Bombay, will release the IIT JAM city intimation slip. The city intimation slip is issued to all the registered applicants so that the candidates can know their exam centre and make their travel arrangements (if required) in advance. Choice of Examination Cities
JAM 2026 Examination will be conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are given above. Candidates must specify their first, second and third choices of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2026. When the choice of first city is made, then the zone gets determined and the candidates will be able to choose the second and third choice cities from the same zone only.
