NMAT 2019 Application Procedure

The online application process of NMAT examination commences in the month of July and the same continues till October. Usually, the application form of NMAT is available for 3 months. The candidates can also apply after the due date until 10 days by paying the late fee, as prescribed by the examination conducting authority.

Steps to apply for NMAT:

Step 1: Registration:

  • Visit the official website of NMAT and click on ‘Register Now'.
  • Provide the candidates' name, country, mobile number, email id, password and submit the form.
  • The candidate will receive an authentication email on the registered email id.
  • The candidate is required to verify it and login again to the official website by entering the registered email id and password.

Step 2: Selection of Management School:

  • The next step involves providing personal information, contact information, education, work experience, institute and course preferred, and other additional information.
  • The candidate can provide 5 options of preferred institute without any additional payment. The candidates applying for more than 5 institutes will be required to pay INR. 200 per institute.

Step 3: Uploading Photograph:

  • The candidate is required to upload the scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph which will be printed on the admit card.

Step 4: Submitting the form:

  • The candidate must meticulously check all the details mentioned on the application form before finally submitting the application form.

Step 5: Paying Application Fee:

  • The candidate must pay the NMAT Application fee. Once the application fee will be paid, the candidates' NMAT application procedure will complete. The application fee can be paid by Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, IMPS, UPI and Mobile Wallets. 

Payment Instructions:

You are required to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 1600 plus applicable taxes as applicable based on the programme choices. If you wish to apply for more than seven (7) programmes a fee of INR 200 plus applicable taxes will be charged for each additional programme.

You may choose to pay through one of the three payment modes available:

  • Online Payment through Visa or MasterCard Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net Banking/American Express Card/ Diners Card: Follow the instructions on the website after choosing the card option.
  • Demand Draft: You may choose to pay through a demand draft (DD). You can visit any bank and get a demand draft issued in favor of Graduate Management Global Connection (India) Private Limited payable at Gurgaon. At the back of the DD, you must provide: name, registration number, and programme(s) selected. You should select the mode of payment as DD in the "Make Payment" tab and click "Submit" after completing the required DD details.

Schedule Your Exam:

Once your registration is complete and your payment has been received, you will receive an email with your username and password, allowing you to schedule the exam. Candidates will be able to select the date, time slot, and test centre of choice based on the availability of seats. The test slots will be scheduled on a first-come, first served basis. You will receive a confirmation email once you have scheduled your exam.


You will be allowed to take the NMAT exam a maximum of three times during the year's testing period. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No shows are considered attempts.

You will need to register for a retake exam using the same process as the initial test registration. Once your registration for the retake is complete you will receive an email with authorization to schedule.

You can schedule the retake test 15 or more days after your most recent date of the attempt. This means you will have to wait at least 15 calendar days before you can appear for a retake. You can schedule your test any time during the retake scheduling window (subject to real-time availability). You will be able to select any slot that is a minimum of 24 hours later than the time you schedule your appointment.


You may reschedule your appointment if you can't appear for the original test appointment. You may reschedule your appointment up to 72 hours prior to your original appointment. You may pay for your reschedule using credit card only.

NMAT 2019 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of NMAT examination is prescribed by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). The candidates who qualify NMATexamination will be eligible for MBA admissions in NMIMS and 25 other business schools. According to the eligibility criteria prescribed by the GMAC, any candidate who has completed Bachelors' degree from a recognized university or institute with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate can appear NMAT examination. Candidates with work experience are given preference during admission. 

NMAT by GMAC Eligibility Criteria in Detail:

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from a recognized university or Institute.
  • Candidates must have at least 50% score in aggregate in their graduation.
  • Candidates with work experience of two or more years after graduation will be favored for admission to all full-time programmes according to Admission Information Handout of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).

NMAT 2019 Admit Card

NMAT Admit Card is released by the GMAC within 24 hours after successful registration and Application Fee payment. The Admit Card is an important document for the candidates appearing for NMAT as the candidate is required to carry the Admit Card along with 2 ID proofs to the NMAT examination centre on the test day. The NMAT Admit Card will be carrying registration details and photograph of the candidate.

Steps to download NMAT Admit Card:

  1. The candidate must visit the official website of NMAT to download their respective Admit Card
  2. Provide your login details i.e. your registered email ID and password
  3. Click on the link ‘NMAT Admit Card'. The Admit Card will appear on the screen.
  4. Download it and take a print out for future reference.
