MLT Course Eligibility
The candidates who are interested in pursuing the course of Medical Laboratory Technology should meet the required eligibility criteria:
- Candidates who have completed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with 50% marks from any recognized board/institute.
- Candidates are eligible with a qualification of a Bachelor's degree in MLT with at least 50%-55% of the required grades from an accredited university to get admitted to MLT PG Courses.
- Candidates need to qualify for the entrance exams as per college or university requirements.
MLT Course Admission
The admission for MLT Courses depends on merit based and entrance exam. The candidate should meet the eligibility criteria for admission in the desired college or university. Some colleges or universities provide direct admission for MLT courses. The candidates have to fill out the form and make sure to pay the application fee.
Types of MLT Course
In Medical Laboratory Technology, the courses are offered at the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates can pursue different types of MLT Courses which are mentioned below:
- Certificate Course: For class 10th pass outs, there is a certificate course in MLT. The duration of CMLT is 1 year.
- Diploma Course: The duration of DMLT course is 2 years. There is also a post graduate diploma in medical laboratory technology PGDMLT.
- Degree Course: All MLT bachelor's and master's degrees fall under this category. BSc MLT is a 3 years program with a mandatory internship of 6 months. Admission to Bsc MLT is based on an entrance test but there are institutes that give direct admission as well. For studying MSc MLT the eligibility is BSc MLT, BSc Microbiology or any equivalent science degree with 55% marks.
