MAKAUT stand for “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology”. It formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), is a prominent technological university located in West Bengal, India. MAKAUT was established in 2001. Makaut full form is Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. It is completely financed by the Government of West Bengal. The university is situated on a spreading main campus spanning around 40 acres in Haringhata, which has been allocated by the Government of West Bengal. The campus includes separate hostels to accommodate both male and female students. It is strategically located between Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya and IISER Kolkata, enhancing its proximity to prominent academic institutions in the region.
