AKTU Counselling: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as UPTU, is one of the largest state public universities in Lucknow, UP. The university oversees counseling sessions for technical, IT, management, and other courses in its affiliated colleges.

AKTU oversees UPTAC counselling and admission for various UG and PG courses. Registration for AKTU counselling for admission is done online mode only. Interested candidates are required to fill out the Application Form online through the official website https://uptac.admissions.nic.in.
Candidates filling out the Online Application Form are required to upload scanned images of the latest color photograph and signature. Application forms having blurred photographs will be rejected.
Candidates from reserved categories, sub-categories, rural considerations, etc., need to mention that in the Application Form. They also need to bring the original certificates when physically reporting to the Institute where the seat has been allotted, along with a self-attested copy of each. We have mentioned the steps to fill out the application form for AKTU Counselling:
Step 1: Registration
Step 2: Document Verification: The Central Document Verification Team will authenticate the documents. Upon successful verification, candidates will receive an SMS/email as confirmation.
Step 3: Choice Filling: Access the choice filling section on the UPTAC portal using your registration ID and password. Pick preferred colleges and courses from the available list.
Step 4: Seat Allotment: The authorities will announce the seat allotment result online based on the choices made. Candidates can check their allotment using their login details.
Step 5: Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment: After seat allotment, candidates can Freeze or Float the Allotted Seat. To secure the seat, candidates must pay a Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 20,000 (General and OBC)/Rs. 12,000 (SC & ST). Upon payment, seat acceptance information will be provided. Accept the seat by paying the admission fees within the specified timeframe.
Step 6: Online Willingness: If unsatisfied with the seat allotment, candidates have options:
- Freeze: Accept the seat without participating in further allotment rounds.
- Float: Retain the allocated seat while remaining open to subsequent counseling rounds.
- Withdrawal: Cancel participation in the counseling process.
Step 7: Reporting to Allotted College: After seat acceptance and fee payment, report to the allotted college within the stipulated timeframe. Bring all necessary documents for verification and complete admission formalities.

For UPTAC counselling process, the following documents are required:
AKTU offers admission to the First year as well as to the Second year (Lateral Entry) through UPTAC counselling. AKTU counseling is available for students who have cleared their qualifying exam from any institution in the U.P. and meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates who passed their qualifying exam outside the U.P. must submit their parent's domicile certificate (either Father or Mother) during online registration for verification. The original certificate needs to be presented during offline verification at the Institute where the seat is allotted.
Furthermore, this counseling is open to candidates who completed their qualifying exam outside of U.P. and whose parents (both Father and Mother) are not residents of U.P.

For AKTU counselling, scores secured in the national-level entrance exams are considers. AKTU accepts JEE Mains, NATA, CUET UG and CUET PG cutoff for UPTAC Counselling.
For AKTU Counselling, students have to pay nominal registration fees of INR 1000 for all the categories.
For AKTU counselling, students must have first appeared in the relevant entrance exam, i.e., JEE Mains for B.Tech, NATA for B.Arch, and CUET-UG/PG for various UG and PG courses.
AKTU counselling for admissions to its affiliated colleges usually begin in the month of September.
