In general, the syllabus of the LLB course is structured as a core and elective subject. LLB course subjects can be divided into core and elective subjects. Students can choose from the elective LLB subject list based on their interests, career scopes, or future education goals. Core subjects are considered essential for the student's learning and tend to be the same in all colleges. Elective subjects are dependent on the students and their preferences.

The Common Law Admission Test, popularly known as CLAT, is a national-level entrance test. It is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs and the Bar Council of India for admission to law courses such as LLB, BBA LLB, BSc LLB, and LLM. It is an offline examination lasting 2 hours with 120–150 questions. The minimum eligibility for the CLAT exam is to pass 10+2 from a recognized board.

No, CLAT exam is conducted only for admissions to five-years LLB courses and LLM course. For admission to an LLB degree, candidates have to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university/ law colleges.
As per the eligibility criteria of the LLB course, the candidates holding a bachelor degree in any discipline can pursue the course. No such requirement of Mathematics as a mandatory subject for admission to an LLB course.
Candidates should have secured at least 55-50% marks in their bachelor degree for admission to the LLB degree. However, every law school/ university in India provides relaxation of 5% marks to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe candidates.
