SC to Hear NEET PG Answer Key Plea Today

The Supreme Court of India will be hearing pleas from the conducting body of the NEET PG exam, the National Board of Education for Medical Sciences (NBEMS), later today, 12th September 2025.

This comes from students seeking more transparency with regards to the conduct of the NEET PG exam and its counselling process. Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee is expected to release the counselling schedule for the NEET PG exam shortly later this month.

What is the NEET PG Supreme Court Case?

Earlier this year, several students filed a petition against the NBEMS for their practices with regards to the NEET UG and PG examinations. This came after the board had promised to release the answer key for the NEET PG exam but later backtracked to not release the answer key as well as only provide question IDs instead. This came after building frustrations against the board for their overall lack of transparency and frustrating practises such as the changing of exam patterns at the last moment without warning.

Furthermore, arguments were also raised that the board’s refusal to release the question paper for the exam violated Article 14 and Article 21 of the Indian Constitution.

NEET PG Counselling Details

The registration portal for the NEET PG counselling process is expected to begin later this month. Students will be able to register for the counselling process through the official NEET PG website.

Earlier this month, the NEET PG AIQ 50% merit list was released. Only those students who appeared on the merit list will be allowed to take part in the counselling process for the NEET PG examination. For students who were unable to make it to the merit list, they will still have opportunities to participate in the counselling process for the exam through their respective state quota’s reserved medical seats.
