According to the latest news, the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) has announced to offer MBA Admissions to Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM). This decision is expected to be executed from the second week of January 2020. The admission procedure of MBA for IIT Bombay depends on the score secured by candidates in the Common Admission Test (CAT). Candidates willing to pursue their career from IIT Bombay must read the eligibility criteria for admission to MBA in IIT Bombay.
The QS Asia University Ranking 2019 has been released according to which 19 Indian Universities have been listed in the top 200 Asian Universities. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, ranked best among the Indian Universities are also listed in the latest QS Asia Ranking 2019, being on 33rd and 40th position respectively. IIT Madras ranked on 48th position, followed by IISc Bangalore on 50th position.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has released the Online Application Form for UCEED 2019 examination. The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a National-level Entrance Examination conducted by IIT Bombay for admissions in Under Graduate Design Programme (B.Des.) at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IITDM Jabalpur. The UCEED 2019 examination is scheduled to be conducted on January 19, 2019, at 24 examination centres in India and Dubai.

IIT Bombay has won the clarivate India Innovation award in academic institution category which placed IIT amongst the 12 innovators in India.
For Ph. D students the government provides Maharashtra pollution control board which provides 18000 for the first two years and 20000 for the next three years and the selection will be through the departments.
Merit cum means scholarships are awarded at Rs.1000 per month with a benefit of getting a free tuition fee every semester with an intake of approx 25% of the undergraduate students and academic merit will be taken care for granting the scholarships.
