About IIT Bombay: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (commonly known as IIT Bombay or IIT Mumbai) was founded in 1958 and is the first public college to receive funding from UNESCO. The Indian Parliament designated it as an "Institute of National Importance" in 1961. It has been designated as a "Deemed University" and is self-governing. In the engineering category, NIRF 2023 ranks IIT Bombay third; in the engineering category, India Today 2023 ranks it second; and in the engineering (government) category, India Today 2023 ranks it second. 
At the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels, IIT Bombay provides degree and dual degree programs. The institute provides more than 80 courses in the engineering, technology, science, and management streams, organized into 16 departments. The candidates are selected by means of nationwide examinations administered by multiple agencies, including GATE and JEE Advanced.

IIT Bombay Cutoff 2024

IIT Bombay cutoff 2024 will be notified when the IIT Bombay JEE Advanced 2024 results are released. During the BTech cutoff 2023 for Round 1 (JEE Advanced), the BTech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) cutoff was the most competitive of all specialisations, with a closing rank of 66, up from 61 the previous year. The second most competitive specialization was BTech in Electrical Engineering, which had a cutoff of 463. The third and fourth most competitive specializations were Integrated BTech in Electrical Engineering + MTech in Microelectronics and BTech in Engineering Physics, with 966 and 1125 cutoffs, respectively.

IIT Bombay Admission

The admissions process at IIT Delhi is mostly driven by students’ performance in entrance examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Learn more about IIT Delhi’s 2022 admissions.

  1. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Tech programme must have passed the IITs’ JEE Advanced entrance test.
  2. Candidates are admitted to M. Tech programmes based on their GATE test scores.
  3. A valid score on the IIT JAM entrance test is required for admission to the M. Sc programme.
  4. Candidates must have a valid score on the national CEED entrance test in order to be admitted to the M. Design programme.
  5. Candidates seeking admission to an MBA programme must have a valid score in the CAT exam, which is administered nationally.
