The formula for calculating XAT percentile is the same as for other MBA entrance exams: Number of candidates - Rank of a candidate / Number of candidates x 100.
Now, let us look at an example of how the XAT percentile predictor calculates the XAT percentile. Here's an example of how the Verbal and Logical Ability section percentiles are calculated.
Step 1: Calculate the total number of candidates (N) who may take the XAT entrance exam in both sessions, Shift 1 and Shift 2 in the morning.
Step 2: Provide a ranking (r) to all candidates taking the XAT based on their measured score in the Verbal and Logical Ability section.
Step 3: Determine the candidate's percentile score (P) and ranking (r) in the Verbal and Logical Ability section, as follows:
Step 4: Round out a candidate's calculated percentile score (b) to two decimal points. For example, any percentile points greater than or equal to 89.995% are rounded to 90%.
Follow the same steps to calculate the overall XAT percentile marks as well as the percentage marks for each section.

The factors that are considered when determining XAT percentile or ranking are: the difficulty level of the exam, percentile from the previous year’s exam, and normalization of XAT Scores.

XAT Exam consists of 101/102 questions and out of these questions, there are about 100/101 MCQ types of questions while the remaining one is a descriptive essay question and a GK Section containing 25 questions. However, this section is not considered during calculating XAT percentile.
XAT 2024 exam pattern is expected to be moderately difficult, with low or similar cut offs as in previous years. Furthermore, the reintroduction of the Essay Writing Test into the exam has resulted in a mix of MCQs and descriptive question papers, with a slightly increased time limit of 3 hours and 10 minutes and 101 questions, up from 100 questions in 3 hours.

A score of 36-40 is required to be above 99 and close to 100 on the XAT. The XAT does not require a score of 99 or higher as 95+ works.
