Three new hostels have been added to the residence list of IIT Kharagpur Hostel. The inauguration of these three hostels was done by PM Narendra Modi.
Two of these three hostels are for girls and are named - Savitri Bai Phule Halls of Residence. The other hostel is for boys, named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hall of Residence.
These hostels will be specifically residing PhD research scholars along with undergraduate and postgraduate students.
These hostels will allow the suspended PhD admissions to begin again for the autumn semester starting from July 2024.

Placement: A good number of students are placed through our CDC with decent packages. Department wise, CSE gets the best placement offers, but ECE, Industrial Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Instrumentation Engineering is also good.

Faculty: Mathematics teacher Bibhas Sir. Along with stating the theorems, proofs and formulas, he also gives their practical applications. This makes maths very enjoyable.

Admission: State / National Entrance Exams

Club: Dramatics for obvious reasons. Social Cultural activities are always the numero uno choice for students as they are engaging, enjoyable and stress relieving.
