Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is also famous as IIT Kharagpur (IITKGP). It was established in 1951 by the Government of India. IIT Kharagpur UG Admissions
Admission to all the undergraduate courses is on the basis of written entrance examination. Candidates who have qualified IIT-JEE can apply for B.Tech, B.Arch, Dual Degree (Integrated Bachelor and Master of Technology), and five years integrated MSc.
Seat Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 27% for Other Backward Classes.
IIT Kharagpur PG Admissions
- Admission to this programme is through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
- Admission to MSc-PhD programme is through JAM (Joint Admission Test).
- Admission to the MBA and MHRM is through CAT followed Written Ability Test (WAT) and PI.
- Admission to MMST, LLB, LLM, EMBA, PG Diploma in Business Analytics is through Entrance Test conducted by IITKGP followed by an Interview.
IIT Kharagpur PhD Admissions 2024
Following are the several categories of the PhD programme:
- Regular with Institute Assistantship
- PhD with Individual Fellowship (INSPIRE, UGC NET etc.)
- Sponsored PhD
- PhD through sponsored research projects
Admission to this programme is through Department Based Test which is followed by Academic performance, work experience, and interview. Candidates who have qualified GATE/ NET/ CSIR/ UGC or SLET are also eligible for admission.
IIT Kharagpur Application Procedure: MTech/PhD
- The application form needs to be submitted online by clicking on ``Apply Online’’.
- Candidate needs to register using Email ID and Password. Any Data entered during registration cannot be changed.
- After registration, login with your email and password and complete the application form.
- Upload the following documents:
- Passport-size photograph.
- Signature
- Mark sheet and certificate of qualifying degree.
- Category certificate.
- Certificate showing proof of having mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation level.
- Pay the application fee. The application fee is Rs. 500/- for GE/OBC Male/Transgender Candidates and Rs. 250/- for all Female and PwD/SC/ST Candidates.
- Take print of your application form for your records.
