The CLAT 2026 registration process began on 1st August 2025. All interested students have until 31st October 2025 to register for the exam. Students who still are yet to fill their application forms of the exam may have some questions or doubts regarding the application process. Students who have already filled the form may also have some questions as well. Can I Only Register for CLAT Online?

Yes, students may online register for the CLAT 2026 examination through the official CLAT Consortium website atconsortiumofnlus.ac.in.

How do I Know if I am Eligible for CLAT?

For the UG examination, as long as a student has attained a minimum 45% score in their 10+2, they are eligible to take the CLAT examination. For the PG exam however, students must have attained an LLB degree from a recognized institution to appear for the CLAT PG examination.

What is the Application Fees for CLAT?

For students hailing from the general category, the application fees for the CLAT examination is INR 4000. However, for a few reserved categories, including the SCs and STs, the application fees is INR 3500.

How do I Pay the CLAT Application Fees?

Students can only make the payment for the CLAT application fees in the online mode. This could be through net-banking, UPI or credit/debit card depending on a student’s preference.

What Happens if I Miss the CLAT Application Deadline?

Upon missing the application deadline for the CLAT examination, students will not be able to register for the examination. The Consortium of NLUs very rarely re-opens or extends the application window for the CLAT exam as it provides plenty of time for students to be able to register for the paper. Only in very special or rare circumstances may the circumstance reopen the application portal for certain students.

What if I Made an Error on the CLAT Application Form?

In case a student makes an error on the application form for the CLAT examination, they will be able to use the correction window for the exam to rectify those changes. The correction window for the CLAT application opens after the original application window for the exam ends.

CLAT Application Form Guide

Provided below is a simple step-by-step overview of the CLAT 2026 application process. Following these simple steps will ensure students know what to expect and do when filling-in their application forms for the CLAT 2026 examination. This ensures students face minimum hassle when filling the application form for the CLAT exam.

The CLAT 2026 registration process is as follows:

  1. Registration: Visit the official CLAT website atconsortiumofnlus.ac.in. On the website, students must choose the register option.
  2. Details:While registering students must provide the relevant details. These include a student’s name, phone number, email address, and password. After completing the form details, students must finish a captcha to proceed.
  3. Verification:After the previous formalities have been completed, students must verify their accounts through an OTP. Students can then login to their newly created accounts to further the application process.
  4. Application Form:Students must fill in their CLAT 2026 application forms. This requires students to include several relevant details including:
  • Personal Information such as name, DoB, nationality, category, domicile etc.
  • Address details such as correspondence address, permanent address etc.
  • Parental Information such as names, email addresses and phone numbers.
  • Academic Information such as class 10th marks and class 12th marks.
  1. Course Selection: Students will then be required to select the course of their choice. Students will be required to choose between the CLAT UG or PG depending on their requirements and standing.
  2. Center Selection: After selecting their course, students will be required to choose 3 test centers for the CLAT 2026 exam in order of preference.
  3. Uploading of Documents:There are several important documents students must prepare for the CLAT 2026 examination. These documents include a passport-sized photograph, PwD certificate (if applicable) and a category certificate (if applicable)
  4. Payment of Fees:It is very important for students to pay the fees as part of the CLAT registration process. Without paying the fees students will not be considered to have registered for the CLAT examination.
