BrowserStack Founders Donate ₹100 Crore to Upgrade IIT Bombay Hostels

In a gesture of generosity, BrowserStack co-founders Nakul Aggarwal and Ritesh Arora have donated ₹100 crore to their alma mater, IIT Bombay. The donation will go towards improving hostel facilities and campus infrastructure for the students. Aggarwal and Arora, both 2006 batch IIT Bombay B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering pass-outs, desire to reciprocate the gesture to the institute for making them what they are.

Most of the donation will be utilized to refurbish Hostel 6, where Aggarwal and Arora spent their college years. The fund will further be used for Project Evergreen, which seeks to refurbish Hostels 7, 8, and 21. These initiatives are part of IIT Bombay's overall vision of facilitating some 14,000 students with state-of-the-art, cozy, and accessible hostel facilities.

A Personal Touch to Philanthropy

Aggarwal and Arora described the impact that IIT Bombay has had on their journey as tech entrepreneurs. Arora, BrowserStack CEO, described that what their gift is all about is creating spaces which allow students to thrive, innovate, and learn. Aggarwal, who is the company's CTO, went further to describe how residing in Hostel 6 was a critical part of his journey to become an international leader in tech. That is why this gift truly means a great deal to them.

BrowserStack's CSR program is helping partially towards this. The business has dedicated support for innovation and education in India in the form of donating support to brilliant students to excel in their potential.

IIT Bombay appreciation

IIT Bombay Director Professor Shireesh Kedare thanked the alumni for their kindness. The donation will boost student living facilities immensely and strengthen learning, as per him. He also wished the alumni good for their selfless effort of giving back to the institute.

BrowserStack is a well-known software testing tool used worldwide, running over two million tests daily in its 19 data centers distributed across the world.
