Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is an engineering college situated in Bangalore, Karnataka. The college has been given ‘Autonomous' status by UGC. This institution is affiliated to Visvevaraya Technological University (VTU) and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is given Grade ‘A' status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institute offers courses under Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. The NMIT Courses offered to students include B.Tech, B.E., MBA, MCA, M.Tech and PhD. It basically emphasizes the area of technology. It provides B.Tech/B.E. under following streams,

Each program has a certain number of intakes. The candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are preferred for NMIT Admission. 900 students can be taken under undergraduate programs, student intake of MBA is 120, M.Tech has 180 intakes and that it is of MCA is 120. The admission procedure to different courses in different.  Candidates seeking admission to B.E./B.Tech programs, willing to pursue their career in engineering have to go through a few steps. This program of any course holds duration of 4 years.  There are different procedures via which the admission can be taken.

  • A common entrance test is conducted by the Government of Karnataka which ensures 45% of the total intake reservation. The candidates having Karnataka domicile can apply for the test online.
  • There is another test called COMED-K which ensures 30% of the total intake reservation. This can be filled by Both Karnataka and Non Karnataka candidates. For more details and online registration the candidates can visit the official website
  • Besides the above two, management quota holds 25% of the total intake. Students can mark an email to for further details
  • 15% seats are for foreign nationals/NRIs and the students whose parents work in gulf countries. It is approved by AICTE

Following is the eligibility criteria for a candidate to take part in the admission process

  • Candidates should have passed 10+2 with PCM, scoring minimum 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories)
  • They should have registered themselves for the Common entrance test

Admission procedure for the students seeking admission to M.Tech program

  • Postgraduate common entrance test is conducted by The Government of Kerala. 80% of seats of the total intake are filled by this examination
  • Management quota helps fill the 20% seats of the total intake. Students with a valid PGCET/GATE score are eligible for this

Eligibility criteria for a candidate seeking admission

  • Candidates are required to have appeared in GATE
  • Candidates are advised to visit the official website of GATE to fill the online application form

NOTE- NMIT offers 5% marks relaxation for the students belonging to reserved categories.

Admission Process for the Candidates seeking admission to MBA and MCA programs

  • Admission to MBA and MCA takes place through a few entrance tests such as CET, COMED-K, PGCET, GATE, and GMAT.
  • For MBA, the candidate should have secured 50% in bachelor's degree (45% in case of RC)
  • For MCA, the candidate should have passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject

There is state-level joint entrance exam organised by the college which I have given for taking admission and according to my marks I got admission here and because it is having VTU Affiliation with the AICTE Approval so this college also offers many diplomae, UG and PG degree courses.
