JEE Main

Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This is a national level examination. This exam is conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch courses. Candidates who have scored minimum 75% marks in 10+2 are eligible for this examination. The registration of JEE Main is online. After qualifying JEE Main examination, candidates are required to apply for JoSSA Counseling.

IIT Guwahati placement record is very good. Students of IIT Guwahati have been placed in Microsoft, Adobe, Google, Infosys etc.

The IIT Guwahati placement process is as follows:

  • The invitation to companies has been sent by CCD.
  • The companies interested in placement register and create their online account at IIT Guwahati placement portal.
  • Job Application Form is being filled by the companies.
  • All the required information of the company is being provided to the eligible candidates.
  • Students upload their resume to the placement portal and companies can download or view a student's resume through their placement account.
  • On the basis of their resume, students get shortlisted by the companies.
  • The placement starts in the first week of December and ends in May.
  • On the prescribed dates companies visit the campus and conduct an interview or test as per their selection process.
  • After shortlisting the candidates, companies submit the list to the CCD office.
  • Students once selected cannot sit for any other organization.
