Affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (now Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal), Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (HIT-K) was established in the year 2000, it is an autonomous private engineering college of east Kolkata region. The college is accredited to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Heritage Institute of Technology Courses includes various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
A brief history of Heritage Institute of Technology:
A philanthropic group of 22 people, who were aware that to change the world in a good way, education is the only key and to make this education available for everyone in the state, the group established a public charitable foundation by the name of Kalyan Bharti Trust (KBT). The trust has the vision ‘to prepare dynamic and caring citizens to meet the challenges of the global society while retaining their traditional values' and it turned into reality by providing education from basic to advanced higher levels. To cover the broad field of education the trust started 6 institutions as mentioned below:
Spread in 70 acres of land at Anandapur on the south-eastern spreads of Kolkata city, the college shares its campus with The Heritage School, The Heritage College and The Heritage Academy of Kolkata.
The Institute understands the need for a world-class approach and exposure to its students and to provide the same it has collaborated to many national and international organizations, Institutes and industries. Some of these remarkable international collaborations are:
