Banaras Hindu University, also known as BHU is one of the most reputed universities that has been recognized globally was established by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in the year 1916 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The law school at BHU, popularly known as Faculty of Law, BHU is among the leading law schools in the country, situated on the banks of the river Ganges in Varanasi. The law faculty at BHU is one of the leading faculties of BHU.
The institute is referred to be the pioneer institution of legal education in India with an excellent team of teachers and students. It is one of the earliest faculties that has been established in the Banaras Hindu University and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya served as the dean of the law school for several years.
The faculty offers Under Graduate and Post Graduate Law courses and emphasizes on developing a holistic approach towards understanding law and justice from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
For admissions in Under Graduate law courses, the university conducts Under Graduate Entrance Tests (UETs) in the month of April/ May. Admission is provided according to the candidate's performance in the entrance examination.
