The DG Vaishnav College has been awarded with ’A++" grade by NAAC. DG Vaishnav Admission 2024-26: The DG Vaishnav College has started admissions for Doctoral and research programs. TANCET Registration 2024 has been extended to February 15, 2024 for Admissions. Furthermore, the TANCET exam 2024 will be taken on March 9, 2024. The college has also announced the Percentage to CGPA conversion formula circular. The Admissions for the MBA program are open and the UG Courses admission will be announced by the introduced by the institute shortly. SC/ST applicants in the Aided Stream can apply for an unlimited number of courses at no cost. SC/ST candidates can register online for only one course at no cost (application fee) in shift II (Self-finance).

DG Vaishnav College was established in the academic year of 1964 on 30th June in Chennai. It is a College for Linguistic minorities, established to impart Higher Education. It is regarded as one of the Top institutes in Chennai. It has been conferred the status of ‘Autonomous’ institute by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and was affiliated with the University of Madras. It had Totadri Iyengar, as its first principal who is also the teacher who once taught Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. It has also been accredited with a grade ‘A++’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The DG Vaishnav College had started initially with one course B.Sc. (Honors) in Mathematics, and now it has expanded to other UG, PG and even research programs in all the streams.

The semester system of DG Vaishnav College is divided into even and odd semesters. Results for these semesters of DG Vaishnav College are published online on the institution’s official website in Chennai. The DGVC page will guide applicants to the results page. The DG Vaishnav College Timings are divided into two shifts. The shifts 1 Timings are 6.15 am to 1.30 pm and shift 2 timings are 2 pm to 6.30 pm.
DGVC Vision: To promote value-based education, equip students with wisdom, and transform them with rich Indian traditions and culture in order to inspire them to extend their perspectives on nation-building, peace, and universal brotherhood.
DGVC Mission: To impart knowledge, assist students in developing their abilities and imbuing their values, develop their personality, shape their character, arouse feelings of empathy and social responsibility, and ultimately assist them in becoming compassionate and responsible citizens. DG Vaishnav (Autonomous) : DG Vaishnav was granted autonomy in the year 2009–2010 by UGC and it was also approved by the University of Madras. This autonomy is granted till the years 2032 to 2033. Autonomy basically means that the new enrollers after the year 2009 into the UG, PG and M.Phil programs will be following the autonomous pattern.
From the academic year 2009-2010, the UGC bestowed the designation of "AUTONOMY" on the College, which was supported by the University of Madras. As a result, students admitted to various UG, PG, and M.Phil courses for the 2009-2010 academic year would fall under the Autonomous pattern. The present batch of IInd, IIIrd, and IVth Year UG students, as well as IInd Year PG students, will continue in affiliated mode. The UGC has currently granted an extension of autonomy till 2032-2033.
DG Vaishnav student’s login portal is there for the students to access various resources of the students. The college also has five NSS units, one of which is an all-girl unit.

Latest Update regarding the DG Vaishnav College Cutoff : According to some of the news reports the cutoff for the BCom course has been pushed to 99% and even above in Chennai. The DG Vaishnav College is no exception to that and its BCom general (shift-1) OC cut-off at DG Vaishnav College has increased to 99.25% (397) this year, which is two marks higher than last year. The college principal said, "This year, there are more students with 400, 399, and 398 cut-off marks than last year," says the college’s principal. Colleges would rank students based on their performance in four subjects other than English and Tamil when making admission decisions. They would choose the students based on their performance on the 400-point scale.
