About DG Vaishnav College, Chennai
Dwarka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, mostly referred to as DGVC or DG Vaishnav College, was established in the academic year of 1964. It has been conferred the status of ‘Autonomous' institute by University Grants Commission (UGC) and was affiliated to the University of Madras. It is a Liberal Arts, Commerce and Science college in Chennai. It has also been accredited with grade ‘A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The main aim of the college is to provide Excellence in education or value-based education.
In terms of infrastructure, the college has seen a tremendous change in the growth of its infrastructure. The campus of DGVC is well spread and it has various temples inside of it. The good infrastructure of the college manages to help in skill developing atmosphere. The students are given various amenities and all the basic facilities inside of the campus.

The classrooms are large and properly ventilated and well furnished. All the classrooms are equipped with Air conditioners.

The cafeteria is a little too far from the main campus but it serves delicious food at reasonable prices. Thus, the food is eco-friendly and pocket-friendly too.

Hostel facilities are for the students coming from out of the city and the prices at which the hostel rooms are given are affordable to students.

The DGVC courses are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These courses are offered under various specializations. At present, there are in total 3 undergraduate courses in 20 various specializations and 3 postgraduate programs such as M.Com, MA and M. Sc. are available under 13 different specializations. DGVC Admission Procedure is quite simple. Candidates seeking admission to any of these programs must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria defined by the college.

For admission to Undergraduate courses, the candidates are required to have passed senior secondary school. The merit list is released by the college based on the performances of candidates.

For admission to Postgraduate courses, the candidates must appear and qualify in TANCET examination conducted by the state government and they must hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field.
TANCET is a state entrance examination conducted by the State Government for the students who wish to pursue their career in M. E., M. Tech, MCA or other postgraduate programs.
The status of the faculty is average. They are qualified and well mannered. They understand the requirements of the students and their capacity to grasp things. They help their students grow in their various areas of interests. They even help students during placements drives and help them to achieve well.
The DGVC Placements and training cell has collaborations with many national and multinational companies. Many big companies like Deloitte, Scope International, KPMG, E & Y, TCS, and many bank companies etc. come for placements. The candidates are shortlisted based on their academic performances and their participation in the events organized by the institute. The maximum salary package has reached up to INR 25,000 per month and the average remains to be at INR 15,000 per month.
