BMCC or Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Pune commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1943. BMCC is one of the pioneering, premier degree commerce colleges in the country situated in Pune, Maharashtra. BMCC was established in the year 1943 with the help of the Deccan Education Society with an objective of providing enlightened leadership to the students in the field of commerce and business. 

The BMCC has been affiliated to the University of Pune since its inception and has even given various well-known leaders, businessmen and industrialists to the country. BMCC College offers various programs offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate level. These programs are primarily offered in the field of Business, Commerce, and Computer.

BMCC Courses & Fees include programs offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate level. The courses offered by the college are B. Com, BBA, BCA, and BBM offered at the undergraduate level and M. Com, and MBA offered at the postgraduate level. BMCC Pune also offered M. Phil and Ph. D. programs at the doctorate level that too in the field of Commerce. The courses offered by the college are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The doctorate level program i.e. M. Phil and Ph. D. offered by the college are affiliated to Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nasik (MCMOU).

BMCC Pune Admission Process

BMCC Admission Process is completed through online mode i.e. by visiting the official website of the college. Candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the BMCC must ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria defined by BMCC. Admission to BMCC is primarily done based on candidates’ performance in the qualifying examination. Candidates seeking admission to MBA must possess a valid score in CET i.e. CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT etc.

The application procedure for admission to BMCC Pune is mentioned below:

  • Interested candidates can obtain a copy of application form by post or from the admission cell of BMCC
  • They must process the payment of application fee while taking the form.
  • They must fill all the required details in the application form correctly.
  • The duly filled application form along with the photocopies of required educational documents must be submitted to the relevant department of the college.
  • Candidates who received their respective application form via post must process the payment fee by sending a demand draft.

  • The student will get to see a page which will display the overall List students on the site of BMCC.
  • The student will get to see a list of the selected students list as per the merit in XII
  • Then the selected students get admission to B.Com as per rules of BMCC.
  • The student needs to fill the admission form released by BMCC
  • The next step involves verification and submission of Original Documents as per BMCC
  • The next step involves allotment of Division and Subject as per the site of BMCC
  • The next step as per BMCC involves payment of fees.
  • The final step as per the site of BMCC includes submission of hard copy of admission form and Fee receipt

Assessment Process of BCom from BMCC

  • Each course offered by BMCC consists of two components of evaluation: Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) worth 40 marks and the Semester End Examination (SEE) worth 60 marks. To successfully pass each course, a student must achieve a minimum of 40% marks in both CIE and SEE.
  • Students who are permitted to carry forward courses from one semester to the next, such as from semester one to semester two, semester three to semester four, and semester four to semester six. However, students of BMCC Pune can retain terms for only three regular courses when transitioning from the first year to the second year and from the second year to the third year. It is essential for students to pass all regular courses in the first year to be eligible for admission to BMCC into the third year.
  • During the three-year degree program, students of BMCC Pune are required to complete skill courses that carry a total of 5 credits. These skill courses offered by BMCC are selected from a list approved by the Academic Council (AC). Each student of BMCC need to choose at least one skill course, unless they are enrolled in one of the Experiential Learning Departments, such as the National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), Cultural, Sports, and Students Development Board (formerly known as Student Welfare Board). Students in these departments will be evaluated for a minimum of 5 credits during the three years. Those not selected in these departments of BMCC Pune must earn a minimum of 5 credits from skill courses offered by BMCC
  • All skill courses offered by BMCC Pune will be recommended by the Academic Council and Finance Committee, and their approval will be granted by the Governing Body (GB) of BMCC  If necessary, additional fees may be required for certain skill courses. BMCC may collaborate with external training institutes or professional bodies to enhance the student-centric nature of these skill courses and improve students’ employability.
  • Rules and regulations pertaining to examinations and evaluations for all courses offered by BMCC will be formulated by the Examination Committee, in collaboration with all Board of Studies (BOS) and with the formal approval of the Academic Council (AC) and the Governing Body (GB).

Assessment Process of BBA from BMCC

In each of the student’s subjects, there will be two important tests. And as per BMCC one of these is called Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE), and it’s worth 40 marks. The other wpuld be the Semester End Examination (SEE), and it’s worth 60 marks. To do well in your subject, you need to get at least 40% marks in both CIE and SEE.

The student needs to keep learning their courses from one term to the next, like from the first term to the second, the third to the fourth, and so on. But the student will only pause your studies for four regular courses when moving from the first year to the second year and from the second year to the third year. However, the student will be pass all their regular courses in the first year to move on to the third year.

During your three years of study, the student needs to complete some special courses called skill courses. These courses offered by BMCC Pune are worth 5 credits in total. The students have to take these skill courses in the second year and third year. The student will need to choose them from a list approved by the Academic Council (AC) of BMCC.

The rules for how the student’s exams and grades work will be decided by a group called the Examination Committee of BMCC. They will talk to the Board of Studies (BoS) of BMCC and get approval from the Academic Council (AC) before making these rules.
