The National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), as the name implies, operates on a nationwide scale. In layman's terms, vocational training refers to business-related training. The National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), established by the Government of India in 1956, is an advisory body whose job it is to ensure that all ITI institutes across India follow the complete guidelines of the Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Government of India. What is NCVT Full-Form?

The NCVT will regulate and define minimum operating criteria for entities that provide long and short-term vocational education and training. The NCVT will unify a fragmented regulatory structure and integrate quality assurance across the vocational training value chain, resulting in improved outcomes. The Indian government established the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in 1956 as an advisory body. The National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) adheres to the principles and guidelines established by the Directorate General of Training (DGT) of the Government of India's Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The National Council for Vocational Training was previously known as the National Council of Training in Vocational Trades (NCTVT). NCVT is in charge of advising the Indian government on general policy/programs, setting the fundamental criteria and curriculum for craftsmen's training, holding All-India Tests; and giving National Trade Certificates to candidates. NCVT Full Form

For an engineering college, there are AICTE and UGC, which guarantee the curriculum and infrastructure (lab facilities, teachers, and so on) are in good working order. Similarly, for all ITI institutes, there is a Council of Vocational Training that verifies that the facility, workshop, faculty, infrastructure, and so on of an ITI college follow the criteria of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Just as the NCVT oversees ITI institutions at the national level, the SCVT oversees Vocational Training Councils at the state level. If a state's ITI institutes are recognized by the state's SCVT, they must follow all of the requirements of that SCVT. The NCVT and SCVT regulations are nearly identical. Today, because of NCVT, the quality of ITI institutions has greatly improved, and students are receiving a high-quality education. NCVT now oversees over 15,000 ITI colleges in India.

When was NCVT founded?

The "Ministry of Employment and Labour” is in charge of the NCVT. The Government of India founded it in 1956. It now serves as an advisory body to the Government of India. It instructs all NCVT-accredited ITI institutes to follow the Government of India's requirements.

What is NCVT MIS?

NCVT MIS is an abbreviation for NCVT Management Information System. NCVT built this management information system to assist students, where ITI students may obtain many types of critical information linked to ITI courses. On NCVT MIS, there is a computerized database with comprehensive information on student enrolment and which ITI colleges teach which engineering and non-engineering crafts.

For additional information, students can refer to the NCVT MIS official website at ncvtmis.gov.in.

Aside from that, it is responsible for ensuring that all directives issued by the "Directorate General of Training Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Government of India" are carried out at all ITI institutes throughout the nation. NCVT assures that every ITI institution within an institution meets all current criteria. Along with this, it stores information on every institution's infrastructure, lab facilities, and so on. They carry out their duties not just in one location but also on a nationwide scale.

It provides applicants with new opportunities. As previously stated, NCVT exams comprise Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), Apprentice Training Scheme (ATS), and All India Trade Test (AITT). NCVT Advantages

The following are some of the benefits of NCVT-

  1. If a student obtains a certificate of a course from an NCVT-recognized institute, his or her prospects of acquiring a job are quite good because NCVT certificates are increasingly valued in most private firms.
  2. NCVT credentials are also recognized throughout the country and internationally.
  3. At the moment, most private institutes are accredited by NCVT, and state government ITI institutes are increasingly gaining NCVT registration as well.
  4. A student with a certificate of a course from an institution approved by SCVT, on the other hand, has restricted work options. Because SCVT certificates are only valid in that state, while private enterprises value NCVT certificates higher.
  5. As a result, if a SCVT certificate holder wishes to work outside of the state or in a private enterprise, his or her prospects are lower than those of an NCVT certificate holder.
  6. As a result, take training from an NCVT-recognized ITI Institute as much as feasible, and you may even pursue an apprenticeship to boost your chances of getting the position.

Convert SCVT Certificate to NCVT Certificate

If you have a SCVT certificate, you can also get amenities such as an NCVT certificate. This can be accomplished in two ways-

  1. The first option is to enrol as an independent candidate in an ITI institute. After one year, you can obtain a National Trade Certificate (NTC) from NCVT by passing the All India Trade Test (AITT) test.
  2. Apprenticeship can also be obtained in any government agency or commercial enterprise. After completing a one-year apprenticeship in this, you can obtain a Certified National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) from NCVT by passing the AITT test.
