The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the JoSAA registration date on the official website. The JoSAA registration will begin on 3rd June 2025. The candidates who qualify the JEE Advanced exam or have a rank in JEE Main exam must appear for JoSAA counselling. The JEE Advanced qualification is required for admission to various IITs while the JEE Main rank is required for admission to NITs, IIITs, IIEST, and other GFTIs. The JoSAA registration requires authentication by candidates using their JEE Main application number, their name, mother's name, and Date of Birth (DOB).
Once the JoSAA authentication is completed the candidates can proceed to login to the JoSAA portal using their JEE Main application number, JoSAA password, and OTP sent on the registered email ID and mobile number. Once the registration is completed the candidates need to fill in their choices for the preferred colleges and courses. It is advised that the candidates must fill as many options as possible to increase their chances of admission.

JoSAA Registration - Eligibility Criteria

How to register for JoSAA - A step-by-step guide
The JoSAA registration is a simple two part process to be followed by the aspirants. The detailed guide on registering for JoSAA is given and explained below.
Step 1: New Candidate Registration
- The first time registering candidates have to authenticate themselves with JEE Main 2025 details. Click on the link that says “New Candidate Registration”.
- In the next step enter JEE Main 2025 application number, date of birth, Mother’s name, and candidate’s name.
- Submit the details and verify the OTP sent to the JEE Main 2025 registered email ID and phone number.
- Create a new password in the next step for the JoSAA portal and proceed to login.
Step 2: Logging into the JoSAA 2025 Candidate Portal
- The candidate will be redirected to the JoSAA candidate portal after registration.
- Login with the JEE Main 2025 application number and the JoSAA password created.
- Verify the OTP sent to the registered email ID and phone number.
- Read important instructions and check the details like - personal details, JEE Main/Advanced details/Ranks, gender, nationality, passing place of class 12 examination, and state of eligibility. If all details are correct proceed to confirm the registration. If not, then click on the ‘edit’ button.
The above two steps confirm the JoSAA registration process. Once done, candidates can proceed to choice filling and fill in choices of institute type, the name of the institute and the programme from the list displayed.

JoSAA Registration Fees
There is no fees to be paid during JoSAA registration. However, the fees is paid to book and confirm the allocated seat. The JoSAA processing fee is included in the seat allotment fees and is to be paid after the seat allocation in the first round. The candidates must pay a fees of INR 5000 for this process.

Can I change my personal details during JoSAA registration process?
Yes. The candidates can edit a few details if required during the JoSAA registration process. The following are the details that cannot and can be edited at the time of JoSAA registration.

- Class XII (or equivalent) examination board

Important Instructions for JoSAA Registration
Candidates must keep in mind the following instructions when applying for the JoSAA registration.
- Confidentiality of Password is solely the responsibility of the candidate and all care must be taken to protect the password.
- Candidates are advised to keep changing the Password at frequent intervals.
- Never share your password and do not respond to any mail which asks you for your Login ID/Password. NIC/JoSAA does not request such information by email.
- Your IP address will be monitored for security purposes.
- It is strongly recommended that the OTP sent to the applicant for any activity like resetting password etc. must not be shared with anyone.
