IIT Kharagpur CSE Placements: Average Package, Top Recruiters

On the third day of Phase 1 of the IIT Kharagpur placements for 2025, a total of 1,000 job offers were extended, including 20 international positions. Notably, the highest salary package offered during the IIT Kharagpur placement drive reached INR 2.14 Crore per annum for the CSE. Major recruiters involved in this year's placements included prominent companies such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft, among others.

The IIT Kharagpur placement report for 2025 has yet to be published, but media sources indicate that the highest salary package offered so far is INR 2.14 crore per annum, with over 800 job offers made, including 13 international positions.

In the previous year's placements, a total of 1,747 students were placed, comprising 546 out of 685 registered B.Tech students, along with placements for 20 BArch, 442 Dual Degree, and 143 MSc students. Notable recruiters from the 2024 drive included ITC Limited, Gartner, Barclays, and Oracle.

IIT Kharagpur CSE Placements Eligibility Criteria

According to the NIRF 2024, IIT Kharagpur has retained its #5 ranking for the B.Tech. (Hons.) in CSE in 2024. It's important to note that this ranking applies to the overall B.E. / B.Tech programs offered by the institute, rather than being specific to the B.Tech. (Hons.) in CSE. IIT Kharagpur CSE Cutoff Criteria

The IIT Kharagpur JEE Advanced cutoff for 2024 showed significant variations across courses and categories. The most competitive program was B.Tech (Hons.) in CSE, with a last-round closing rank of 415 for the General AI category, marking an increase from 279 in 2023 and 303 in 2022.

Other programs like Artificial Intelligence had closing ranks between 795 and 898, while less competitive courses like B.Arch. Hons. closed at 20,427. The cutoff trends highlight fluctuating competitiveness across years and specializations.

Placement: A good number of students are placed through our CDC with decent packages. Department wise, CSE gets the best placement offers, but ECE, Industrial Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Instrumentation Engineering is also good.

Faculty: Mathematics teacher Bibhas Sir. Along with stating the theorems, proofs and formulas, he also gives their practical applications. This makes maths very enjoyable.

Admission: State / National Entrance Exams

Club: Dramatics for obvious reasons. Social Cultural activities are always the numero uno choice for students as they are engaging, enjoyable and stress relieving.

Placement: It is less in my department as well as Civil and Agriculture department.

Faculty: I don’t think that potential of the faculty of IIT needs any Introduction they all are doctorates so all are expert but in my point, the best one is Prof (Dr.) Manoj Tiwari who taught us many subjects from 1st year.
