The GATE Score is determined using the candidates' actual marks received for all papers with a single session. The GATE score is computed using normalized marks for papers in multi-session exams..The highest marks and qualifying marks for each subject determine the GATE scores in full. Furthermore, it might completely change from year to year. It should be noted that different scores from different years can be obtained for the same marks.
Unlike GATE Marks, which are calculated using a 100-point scale, GATE Score is based on a 1000-point scale. The method of normalising GATE marks has been developed by the authorities in order to be fair to all candidates. The following parts have mentioned the formula and its justification.

Based on the premise that "in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of skills of candidates is the same throughout all the sessions," GATE normalisation is carried out.
Only the actual GATE Marks are used to calculate GATE Score for single session papers. While for papers from several sessions, the GATE 2023 Score Calculation uses both the actual/raw marks and the normalised scores.

Based on the results of the candidates, the GATE Cut off is issued.
The GATE Scorecard will be made accessible on the GATE website. Following the announcement of the results, the qualified applicants will be able to get their GATE scorecard. The official notification from GATE states that the results for 2023 will be released on March 16th. After the result date, the scorecard is valid for three years. From 21 March 2023 to 31 May 2023, the scorecard will be available on the official website without charge. Candidates who wanted to download their scorecard after May 31 will have to pay 500 rupees for each paper. Candidates won't receive a scorecard after January 1, 2024. The GATE scorecard will not be provided to candidates in physical copy.

GATE 2023 Exam : Know All About Gate Exam
