How to Solve GATE Question Papers Effectively?

Start with Timed Practice: Try to complete the paper in three hours to acclimatize to the examination setting.

Study the Exam Pattern: Observe where the 1 and 2-mark questions, NATs, and MSQs are placed so that you can plan your attempts.

Start with your Easiest Subjects: Start with your simplest subjects while attempting the questions so that you become confident and do not lose your time.

Notice the Repeated Topics: The same few ideas and categories of questions recur annually. Refine these to refer to them later.

Practice Speed and Accuracy: Read how many questions you managed to answer correctly within the time given. Try to reduce guessing to prevent negative marking.

Mark Mistakes Thoroughly: After attempting the exam, go through the solutions and identify where you have gone wrong. Re-solve the concepts where you have gone wrong.

Keep a Formula notebook: While practicing, note down important formulas or shortcuts so you can easily update them prior to the exam.
