Spotlight: Public Service Through an IIMA Lens

At the event, organized by IIMA Director Prof. Bharat Bhasker and Dean Sunil Maheshwari, alumnus Ramyakumar Bhatt powerfully discussed how management training affected his public service mindset. He remarked that IIMA provided "a unique lens—to approach citizen issues with empathy and the same analytical rigor used in business," adding that “nation-building is the most meaningful and scalable enterprise”.

Bhatt emphasised the importance of public service, stating that receiving the award “is a powerful affirmation of the quiet, often difficult path of public service” and expressed hope that it would inspire more graduates to contribute to nation-building.

The Broader Impact

Held annually, the YAAA serves to honour a wide range of accomplishments—whether in high finance, social work, arts, or public administration—underlining the varied ways IIMA alumni impact society. Faculty, students, and staff attended the ceremony, confirming the institute's close relationship with alumni.

These awards not only spotlight individual achievements but also reinforce IIMA’s mission to nurture leaders capable of making tangible contributions across multiple sectors globally.
