Presidency College Chennai is one of the oldest colleges, having been founded in 1840 by the British Indian Government. NIRF has placed the college third in 2022. Presidency College Chennai Courses offers 21 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with 18 M. Phil. specialisations and 19 Ph.D. specialisations. Admission to the Presidency College is based on merit and the TANCET MCA Entrance Exam. At the college, the average salary package is INR 1.8 LPA.

Presidency College Admission 2023: Anna University has announced the registration and exam dates for the TANCET 2023, which will be used to offer admission to various postgraduate courses in Tamil Nadu colleges. Registration for TANCET 2023 will be open from February 1 to February 22, 2023, with a registration fee of INR 1000 for unreserved candidates and INR 500 for reserved candidates. The MBA and MCA courses will take place on March 25, 2023, while the MTech, ME, MArch, and MPlan courses will take place on March 26, 2023. Presidency College Placement: Presidency College was ranked third in the "College" category in the NIRF 2023 rankings. In the year 2021-22, the institute recorded a record placement of 266 students out of 944 students for the UG three-year programme. In the same year, the PG two-year programme placed 141 students out of 395, and the three-year programme placed 18 out of 26 students. The median UG programme package for 2021-22 was INR 1.50 LPA. Presidency College Admissions

Presidency College’s admissions process is autonomous; students must visit the college to obtain an admission form; additionally, the college website is currently unavailable. Candidates must meet all of the eligibility requirements outlined in the preceding table.

How to Apply?

As previously stated, students must collect the admission form from the college grounds. Students must carefully complete the admission form and submit the specified mark sheets on the admission form before the admission process deadline. Once the forms are submitted, the college will provide a form with all of the marks listed on it, which the student must bring on the day of admission. The admission day includes a series of counselling rounds in which students are called based on their rank on the merit list based on their grades. Students seeking admission to undergraduate courses must submit 10+2 mark sheets; candidates seeking admission to graduate courses must have graduated from the respective undergraduate course with the required marks. 

How do I register for the TANCET exam? 

The first eligibility requirement for applying for the TANCET exam is that the candidate have at least a 50% average in their bachelor’s degree (BCA).
Candidates can create a new login by logging into the Anna University portal.
After creating a unique login, the candidate must carefully fill out all of the required information and select the course for which they are applying, as well as the exam centre.
After completing all of the required information, candidates must pay the application fee of Rs. 500 for general category students and Rs. 250 for reserved category students. You can now submit the form. Make a note of the TANCET application number.

Presidency College Scholarship

The college Council awards merit-based scholarships to candidates in the B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., M.C.A., and M.Sc., M.Com., M.C.A. programmes. The value of each scholarship is usually reduced to the scholar’s fee or half of it. At any given time, the number of College Scholarships available is limited to 4% of the total strength of the college. First and foremost, the scholarships are usually awarded for a year and continue until the course is completed. They can be revoked at the discretion of the Principal.

Presidency College Facilities

With a large campus that dates back over 160 years, Presidency College has a fair share of old and strong infrastructure and offers the following facilities on campus. Hostels: There are two hostels on campus, one for boys and one for girls. The rooms in the hostel are free because the college funds students who need scholarships that include some hostel fees. The boys’ hostel is currently being renovated.
Library: The college has a general library with a large collection of books and print journals from a variety of fields, reflecting the college’s wide range of courses. It also has paid hostels for international students. Other amenities at the college include a cafeteria, a post office, a Central Bank of India counter, and healthcare services.
