MCM DAV College, sector 36, Chandigarh reviews 5/5
I am a science student and currently pursuing BSc non medical in this college. Being a first semester student of the covid batch, i haven’t visited the college yet. I have just seen its building from outside and searched the college website for some more images. So, the college looks just awesome in terms of building and infrastructure. Even the hostels seem to be very well maintained unlike many other colleges. Coming to the studies, i am attending online classes currently and i am glad to say that even at this time when everything is online and very less students tend to understand what is being taught, i am highly satisfied with the college. The teachers are too good and too helping. There are very less chances of not understanding a concept but even if we didn’t understand, the teachers are always ready to help us at any point of time and in every possible way. Frankly speaking, I was advised by some people that usually, in colleges and universities, teachers just give away their lectures and care the least about student’s understanding. But thankfully, MCM is totally the opposite. So, if anyone of you reading this is worried about the lecturers being careless, shun all your worries and join this college. College also provides opportunities to showcase our latent talents. Talking about the admission procedure, the college, being in Chandigarh, has the central procedure for admission. We had to register ourselves at the dhe.gov.in website where we were alloted different colleges on the basis of our 12th standard board marks. I frankly found the first round of counseling weird because i scored 95% in my 12th standard but still didnot get this college which was my first preference. On the other hand, many 45% or 50% scorers easily got admission in this college in the first counseling itself. I found it somewhat shocking but then I was reminded of the Chandigarh kota. So, we waited for the second round of counseling and thus, i was overjoyed to see my name against the name of this prestigious institution. So, if you are looking for perfection, just go for it. Thank you!
My experience 4/5
Due to current pandemic situation,,I personally have not been able to visit my college yet . But I am attending online classes and I came to know that all my teachers and other staff members are really supportive and nice .They clear our doubts and take our class exactly according to the time table and due to this we never face any problem in our academics . Apart from this they also share their own experience of college. There are also so many extra curricular activities in the college . Good practical performing labs also . In nut shell ,, I would like to say that I am very much satisfied with this college and its totally worth it..
genuinely not a great place! 1/5
the teachers literally dictates from the books. the practicals are merely a waste of time and teachers are STUBBORN and ARROGANT like majority of them. This place is more like a school or u could say worse. I am really not happy with the faculty. And they give admission to literally any one if you got yur grades in 70 s also don’t worry they will let you in. There is no filtration of students its merely a thing to say that you should have good grades. I feel it was a bad decision to join here therefore i would be switching over. yes! they do have various activities which is the only positive thing i could write. thank you!
College Description 5/5
The full form of the college is Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women which is affiliated with the Panjab University and because this is a PU College so taking admission in a professional course is not an easy task you need to have more than 75% marks in the 12th Board examination which I have done and then took admission and right now I am in the last year of the course. There are 2 types of faculties in the college one are Permanent who are Ph.D. holders and other are ad-hoc which are not Ph.D. holders
Overview 5/5
MCM is a reputed women college in Chandigarh. The department teachers & staff & rest of all the faculty is nice & always approachable. The teachers tries to make everything so simple & apprehensible. The infrastructure is very good and overall it’s very nice. We have so many cocurriculum activities going on. It’s a positive environment where one get encouraged to try everything. Overall , my journey in mcm is worth remembering and I cherish all my memories of mcm & being MCMite.
Good faculty 5/5
The college has good faculty with very helpful and understanding teachers. The crowd of the College is good too.It is one of the best for arts humanities studies. The admission process isn’t too tedious but for the heat during peak summers. Still tents and pedestal fans are put for convenience during the admission process. The teachers are there to guide you and it’s better to reach early to avoid the crowd and hasten the procedure of your admission.
Neutral-not that bad but not that good too 3/5
When i was deciding about the college i am going to join ,mcm dav was a name being referred to me time and again ,it is famous for its girls, fashion etc it is not too that level which is said everywhere,i dont find the teachers to be strict,so that children can start studying, college is not that bad or good in extra curriculars the infrastructure is also just fine ...in al i can just say is this college is not that bad but not that good too

The college provides a really good environment for us students to study and the teachers are knowledgeable and not just in their domain but all throughout. They help us in every aspect of our life and guide us throughout our graduation. Our English professor Dr. Jasmine Anand always teaches us beyond our subject so that we are prepared for the real world. There are no big cons to the college.
