The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, widely known as IIT Hyderabad, commenced its establishment in the academic year of 2008 with the help of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The establishment of the institute was set up by financial assistance from Government of Japan. The institute has been given ‘Autonomous' status and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
