The All India Institute of Medical Sciences conducts online-mode admissions using entrance examinations either NEET or INI CET. Earlier, for PG and super speciality courses, the admission was done on the basis of AIIMS PG Exam scores. The admission cycle is based on the dates of the entrance exams conducted throughout the year. MBBS admissions are subject to the marks of the NEET Examination. 

How do you apply?

Step 1: The following are the processes that a candidate must do in order to apply for AIIMS courses:

Step 2: Applicants must complete the NEET application form on the official website.

Step 3: Students must provide their personal information and choose a course.

Step 4: Submit the necessary documentation for verification.

Step 5: Students must pay the prescribed amount of non-refundable fees (Rs 1,500 for General and OBC applicants and Rs 800 for ST/SC candidates) online using an e-wallet, net-banking, or debit/credit card.

Step 6: Take a printout of the application form once it has been completed.

NEET Registration Status:

  1. Applicants are notified of their successful NEET registration through email to their registered e-mail address. Students may readily get the application form and NEET admit card status updates from the official website.
  2. If a candidate’s Application or Admit Card status is not available on the internet, he/she should write to the below-mentioned address as soon as possible, together with the Registration details of the application form, via e-mail.
  3. Admissions to PG and Super-specialty courses will be based only on the results of the AIIMS PG 2021 Common Entrance Examination, which will be conducted online using a computer-based test (CBT).

Important

  • Ph.D. admissions will be based on performance in one of the last two years’ entrance exams (Joint CSIR UGC NET for JRF, ICMR JRF, ICMR SRF, DBT JRF, DBT SRF, GATE).
  • Foreign nationals are only admitted to AIIMS New Delhi.

Eligibility criteria for different AIIMS Delhi courses:

For Undergraduate Programs

  • Candidates seeking admission to MBBS must have passed senior secondary school with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as main subjects from a recognized board.
  • For B. Sc Nursing, the candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (50% for RC) in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • For Bachelor of Optometry and B. Sc Medical Technology in Radiography, the candidates are required to have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for RC) in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.

For Postgraduate Programs

  • For M. Sc, the candidates are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.

For Ph.D. Program

  • Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. are required to possess an MBBS or BDS degree securing at least 55% marks in aggregate or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh in the relevant field.

Admission to Undergraduate Programs at AIIMS Delhi

  • The institute conducts an entrance examination at the national level. Interested candidates must qualify the entrance examination for admission to MBBS.
  • This entrance examination is followed by the counseling process conducted at the institute.

The examination is conducted through Online Computer Based Test (CBT). The test consists of one question paper with 200 MCQ type questions. The questions are from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge/Aptitude.

  • Candidates seeking admission to B. Sc Nursing, B. Sc Medical Technology in Radiography, and Bachelor of Optometry are required to appear and qualify the written examination conducted by the institute.

For B. Sc nursing, the entrance examination consists of four parts to be completed in 2-hour duration.

Admission to Postgraduate Programs at AIIMS Delhi

  • There are various PG programs offered by the Institute namely M. Sc, M. Biotechnology, M. Cardiology, D. M., M. Ch., and M. D.
  • Admission to any of the Master courses takes place based on the merit list. Marks obtained by candidates in the entrance examination conducted by the institute are considered. 
  • The question paper of M. Sc and M. Biotechnology consists of 90 Multiple Choice Questions. The question paper is of 90 marks and the duration is 90 minutes.
  • For admission to DM/M. Ch/MD, there is a two-phased performance evaluation, in which the candidates are required to qualify a written test consisting of 80 MCQs (carrying 80 marks with a duration of 90 minutes). The shortlisted candidates are advised to departmental clinical lab assessment.

Admission to Ph.D. Program at AIIMS Delhi

  • Admission to the Ph.D. program is done based on the performance of candidates in the entrance examination followed by Personal Interview round conducted by the institute.
  • Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. must possess an MBBS or BDS degree securing at least 55% marks in aggregate or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh from a recognized university (recognized by Medical Council of India).

Does AIIMS take NRI students?

Yes, it does offer admission to NRI students but there is no seat reserved for them. So, in one batch, there maybe 8 to 10. However, in the other, there may be none. Your competition is with those you are writing their exams in India.
