The WBJEE exam 2025 was held on 27th April as an offline pen and paper based test (PBT) across various exam centres. The WBJEE provisional answer key was released on 9th May 2025 and could be challenged till 11th May 2025. Now the WBJEE result 2025 was expected on 22nd June, but has been delayed. The reason for delay is still unknown but the delay has resulted in tension amongst the students.

Why is the WBJEE result delay a matter of worry?
While a few students maybe fine with the delay, but a lot of the students are worried as the WBJEE result has been delayed and there is no information on the expected result date for WBJEE. A major reason of worry here is the conduct of JEE Main exam and the JoSAA counselling being underway. With the JEE counselling process already underway, students are in a dilemma if they should opt for the seats at the central universities or they should wait for the WBJEE results.
“Students fear that they might lose their seats in IITs and NITs if WBJEE results are not announced anytime soon,” Times Now reported. “On the other hand, if they lock seats elsewhere, they will lose the chance to gain admission to Jadavpur University.”
This is especially significant for students from financially weaker backgrounds, as Jadavpur University (JU) offers quality education at comparatively lower fees.
WBJEE 2025 expected cutoff and previous year trends
Even faculty members are raising concerns. The Jadavpur University Teachers’ Association (JUTA) has now demanded that the WBJEE 2025 results be declared without further delay. “They fear a loss of talent, as students will ultimately choose IITs/NITs due to the uncertain postponement of the WBJEE outcome,” the report added.

Why is WBJEE result delayed?
As per Times Now,the WBJEE results are delayed as a result of the Calcutta High Court's stay on the revised OBC list in place till July 31. Once the legal clarity is received,WBJEEBis expected to proceed with the declaration of category-wise ranks and overall merit lists.
