WBJEE Counselling Choice Filling Tips & Locking Rules

  • Fill all possible choices

You can fill as many choices as you want. The more you fill, the more opportunity you have to receive a desired seat. If you don't fill in enough options, it is possible you won't get a seat at all.

  • List in Order of Priority

List your desired courses and colleges first. List your options in the order of your preference. Never include any colleges or branches that you wouldn't be willing to join no matter how far down the list they are.

  • Research First

Prior to filling out your choices, check the previous year's cut-offs, college reviews and placement statistics. Consider giving more priority to institutes which have a good past academic record, good infrastructure, and placements in your branch of choice.

  • Utilize TFW Quota

If your family's income is under ₹8 lakh per year (or ₹ 67,000 per month), you are eligible to apply for TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) quota. The allotted seats are based on merit. Please remember to add the TFW options separately when filling your options along with the general options.

  • Check for Mock Allotment

If WBJEEB provides a mock seat allotment round, make sure you avail of it. This would give you a glimpse of what your current choices would have allocated. If you are not satisfied with the mock result then rearrange your choices as needed and lock it before the locking deadline.
