WBJEE 2025 Rounds Explained
There are two main types of rounds for the WBJEE seat allotment process. These are the ‘Main Rounds’ and ‘Mop-Up Rounds.’The main rounds of allotment are standard rounds where all students who registered for the WBJEE counselling/ seat allotment process are allotted seats in colleges of their choice. There are 2 sets of main rounds that take place. The main rounds of the WBJEE seat allotment process take place in July 2025. Students who cleared the WBJEE examination are eligible to participate in this round of seat allotment.
WBJEE 2025 Mop-Up Rounds Explained
After the completion of the WBJEE main rounds of seat allotments, the mop-up rounds of allotment begin. For 2025, the WBJEE mop-up rounds are expected to take place in August 2025. The mop-up rounds aim to help students who were not allotted a seat, a chance to get admission to a college of their choice after the WBJEE 2025 examination. The main purpose of this round of seat allotment is to distribute any of the leftover seats from the main rounds of seat allotment. While students can rely on this round of seat allotment, it is recommended that students keep realistic expectations if they are participating in this round of seat allotment.
The following students are eligible to register and participate in the WBJEE mop-up rounds of seat allotment:
- Students who did not get seats in either round of the main rounds of seat allotment.
- Students who did not register for the original WBJEE seat allotment process altogether.
- Students who were allotted seats in the earlier rounds of counselling but did not take admission.
- Students who withdrew or exited from the counselling process initially.
