What is Food?

Food is a source of nutrients that all living things need to maintain growth and carry out essential tasks because it gives us energy.  It plays a vital role in the survival of living beings. It provides nourishment to the trillions of cells in our body, enabling healthy cell function, accelerating biological processes, and promoting growth. These macro- and micronutrients are crucial for carrying out bodily chemical processes that promote healthy digestion and, ultimately, growth.
