UPTET is a state-level teaching exam administered once a year for the position of teacher. Candidates who pass this exam are eligible to teach Primary (Classes 1 to 5) & Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) in Uttar Pradesh schools. Exams are conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB).
The UPTET examination comprises two papers. UPTET Paper 1 is administered to candidates who intend to teach in Classes 1–5. On the other hand, UPTET Paper 2 is for those who want to teach classes 6-8. Candidates who want to teach in Classes 1–8 must take both papers of the UPTET 2024 test.
