TNEA 2025 Spot Counselling Process Explained
There are a total of 3 rounds of counselling for the TNEA 2025 counseling process. However, there is a ‘bonus’ or ‘spot’ round of counselling that does take place. This round takes place after the 3rd round of the TNEA counselling process.
The spot round of counselling is often referred to as a ‘bonus’ or ‘supplementary’ round. Like the other rounds of the TNEA counselling process, this will also be taken in the online mode. The spot round of counselling will take place in September 2025. This round of counseling mainly aims to distribute leftover seats or ‘spots’ to students.
Students who missed the initial rounds of counselling will be eligible to participate in this round. Those who failed their initial class 12th examinations will also be eligible to participate in this round of counselling.

How to Participate in TNEA 2025 Spot Counselling?
Provided below is a simple step-by-step process for students to be able to participate in the TNEA spot counselling process:
- Registration: Students will have to visit the official TNEA website at tneaonline.org to complete their registration process. During this process students will also be required to pay the registration fee for counselling as well. For the general category, students will be required to pay a fee of INR 5000.
- Document Verification: After registration, a proper verification of students’ documents will be required for them to advance to further rounds.
- Choice-Filling: The choice-filling process helps students get into the colleges of their preference. For the spot round of counselling, it is recommended students have realistic expectations as it for a limited amount of leftover seats.
- Seat-Allotment: After all formalities are completed, the seat allotment process will begin. Seats are allotted to students on the basis of their rank, marks and overall availability of seats.
- Confirmation: After the allotment of seats, students will be required to confirm their admission to their colleges of allotment.
