The Anusandhan National Research Foundation's esteemed Ramanujan Fellowship 2025 program supports Indian and Indian-origin scientists and engineers who return to India after working overseas. Recipients of the fellowship can conduct cutting-edge research at any reputable Indian university or scientific institution. Up to ₹23 lakhs will be given annually to chosen fellows to support their professional and research endeavors.

Eligibility

The goal of the Ramanujan Fellowship 2025 is to draw in exceptional Indian and Indian-origin engineers and scientists who are currently employed overseas. To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. A scientist or engineer who is currently employed overseas is required.
  2. At the time of nomination, they must be younger than 40.
  3. must possess a more advanced degree, like:
  • Ph.D. in Engineering or Science
  • Engineering or technology master's degree
  • A medical doctorate or its equivalent
  1. must possess pertinent work experience in their field.

  3. At the time of application, you cannot be employed by an Indian institution or university in any permanent, tenure-track, or contractual capacity.

Benefits

For returning scientists and engineers, the Ramanujan Fellowship 2025 provides generous financial support to support innovative research. The following advantages will be granted to chosen candidates:

  • A fellowship of ₹1,35,000 per month, which includes HRA
  • A ₹7,000,000 annual research grant to pay for travel, supplies, research staff, and contingencies
  • An annual overhead fee of ₹60,000 is due to the host institution.

  • Possibility of developing or enhancing a research career in India with international exposure

Required Documents

The following documents, in PDF format, must be submitted by applicants for the Ramanujan Fellowship 2025, strictly following the guidelines:

  • The recommending authority must properly sign and stamp the nomination letter, which must be on official letterhead.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): A thorough CV that highlights the candidate's publications, research experience, and academic background
  • Plagiarism Undertaking: A signed statement guaranteeing the uniqueness of documents and work submitted

How to Use It

Eligible applicants must be nominated by an Indian host institution in order to apply for the Ramanujan Fellowship 2025. The nominee and the Indian institution where the research will be conducted must coordinate during the application process.

  • Find an Indian host institution that is willing to fund your fellowship.
  • Request that a nomination letter be prepared and submitted by the host institution on formal letterhead.
  • Prepare your resume, nomination letter, and plagiarism undertaking in PDF format.
  • Make sure that every document follows the guidelines provided by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation.
  • Send the entire nomination package via the designated email or portal to the Anusandhan National Research Foundation.
