- Studying in Class 9 to 12 in a recognised institution

- Annual family income ≤ ₹2,50,000

Scholarship Benefits

- ₹75,000 per annum for Class 9 & 10- ₹1,25,000 per annum for Class 11 & 12- Covers tuition, hostel, and other necessary expenses- Disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)

Application Process in Detail

Go to the official website. Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button provided below the scholarship details.

Click on ‘Register’ and fill in the required registration details. (Already registered? Log in using Gmail/Mobile/Email ID.)

On the dashboard, click on the ‘Students’ option on the left side.

Click the ‘Login’ button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) section on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Click ‘New user? Register yourself’ on the left side.

Read the instructions, tick the checkbox, and click ‘Next’.

Enter a valid mobile number, captcha code, and OTP to proceed.

Fill in the details and click ‘Save & Register’ to complete OTR. (Note: Temporary registration number is generated. Use the OTR app for face authentication.)

After registration, go to ‘Apply for Scholarship’ and click ‘Login’.

Choose the scholarship, fill the application form, upload required documents, and submit.

Conditions and terms of the scholarship are as follows:

  • Students need an active bank account to get the scholarship benefits.
  • 30% of the scholarship is set aside for female students.
  • Students in schools that receive help from this program can’t get support from other government programs for the same things already covered here.
  • The selection criteria might change, so students should check the latest guidelines from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
  • A committee will be put together to pick the best-performing schools that have consistently had a 100% pass rate in the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. This committee will be led by the Joint Secretary (BC) from the Ministry, and it will have members from the Department of School Education and NITI Ayog.
  • Selected schools need to have an Aadhaar-based attendance system that can work with a central portal if needed.
