Relations and Functions

- Relations and Types of Relations: Reflexive, Symmetric, Transitive, and Equivalence relations. - Functions: One-one, onto, composite functions, and invertible functions. - Binary Operations: Definition, properties, and examples. - Inverse Trigonometric Functions: Domain, range, principal value branches, and simple problems involving evaluation of expressions using standard results.

Algebra

- Matrices: Concept, notation, equality, types of matrices, zero and identity matrix, transpose, symmetric and skew-symmetric matrices. - Operations on Matrices: Addition, multiplication, scalar multiplication, and properties. - Determinants: Determinant of a square matrix (up to order 3), properties of determinants, minor, cofactor, adjoint, and applications in finding area of a triangle. - Inverse of a Matrix: Existence and method of finding inverse using adjoint method. - System of Linear Equations: Solving linear equations in two or three variables using matrices and determinants (Cramer’s rule).

Calculus

- Continuity and Differentiability: Concept of continuity, differentiability, derivatives of composite, implicit, and inverse trigonometric functions. Basic idea of exponential and logarithmic functions, derivatives of log x and ex. - Application of Derivatives: Tangents and normals, rate of change of quantities, increasing and decreasing functions, maxima and minima (first and second derivative tests). Word problems based on these applications. - Integrals: Indefinite integrals as anti-derivatives, standard integrals, integration by substitution, partial fractions, and by parts. Definite integrals as a limit of a sum and properties of definite integrals. - Applications of Integrals: Finding the area under simple curves (especially parabolas, ellipses, and lines). - Differential Equations: Definition, order, and degree. Formation of differential equations. General and particular solutions. Solution of differential equations using separation of variables, homogeneous equations, and linear equations of the form dy/dx + Py = Q.

Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry

- Vectors: Magnitude and direction, types of vectors (zero, unit, parallel, collinear, and equal vectors). Operations: addition, scalar multiplication, position vector, section formula. Scalar (dot) product and vector (cross) product with their applications to problems of geometry. - Three-Dimensional Geometry: Direction cosines and direction ratios of a line, equation of a line in space, angle between two lines, shortest distance between two skew lines. Equation of a plane in normal form, perpendicular distance of a point from a plane, angle between two planes, line and a plane.

Linear Programming

- Introduction to Linear Programming Problems (LPP): Formulation of LPPs based on real-life situations. - Graphical Method of Solution: For problems involving two variables, feasible and infeasible regions, bounded and unbounded regions, and finding optimal solutions. - Applications: Word problems such as maximizing profit and minimizing cost subject to constraints.

Probability

- Conditional Probability: Multiplication theorem on probability and independence of events. - Bayes’ Theorem: Statement and simple applications. - Random Variables: Concept of a random variable, probability distribution of a random variable, and mean and variance of a probability distribution. - Binomial Distribution: Meaning, properties, and simple applications in solving problems.
